Charlie's POV:

I've been awake for about an hour and really want to make Christmas cookies since Christmas is only a few days away. I go back up to the bedroom where Nick is still peacefully sleeping.

I sit on the edge of the bed rubbing his back and kissing his forehead. He moves a bit and then wakes up.

"I wanna make cookies." I say cheerfully.

He smiles, "Good morning to you too." He laughs pulling me down trapping me into a hug.

He leaves kisses all over my face, forcing a giggle out of me. Eventually he lets me go and sits up, stretching a bit. I get up and he follows me quickly throwing on a jumper, before we head down to the kitchen.

I put the kettle on to make him some tea, and also begin grabbing our baking supplies to make cookies. When the kettle is ready, I pour Nick a cup of tea and he sips it as I start gathering the mixing bowls and spoons.

He gets up joining me, as I look through our cookbook, finding the recipe for gingerbread cookies.

We begin measuring and adding everything to bowl, I mix it as Nick continued adding the remaining ingredients.

I roll the dough out and we grab our cookie cutters, starting to make the little gingerbread shapes. Nick kisses my cheek before making sure the oven is preheated. He comes back over, wrapping his arms around my waist and nuzzling into my neck.

"Are you going to help me lay them on the pan?" I ask

He kisses my neck before nodding as we carefully lay out all of our cookies on our lined baking tray. We place them in the oven setting a timer, and start to clean up our mess.

10 minutes later

Nick's POV:

"I'm really glad you decided to wake me up to make cookies." I say, as I bring the tray out of the oven, the sweet smell wafting around the kitchen. Charlie helps me move each one carefully to a cooling rack. We admire our work and I pull Charlie into me hugging him tightly.

He leans up and kisses me.

"I think we should decorate them, what do you think?" He asks still holding onto me.

"I think that's a great idea darling." I reply, letting go of his waist before we grab some icing from the pantry and some cookie sprinkles and candies to decorate with.

I check that the cookies are cooled enough to ice, which they were so we began decorating each of them and adding candy to make faces and buttons.

Once we finished up the last few cookies, we decided to each taste one.

"These turned out so well" I say taking another bite.

"Agreed, thank you for making them with me." Charlie replied.

"Of course." I reply

We set the cookies in a container to keep them fresh and clean up the kitchen before deciding to watch a Christmas movie and relax the rest of the afternoon.
