They quickly darted down another dimly lit corridor, the air thick with tension and the faint echo of distant clatter. Bumblebee was at the forefront, his vibrant yellow frame a vivid flash against the shadows as he expertly maneuvered through the perils that lurked in the dark. The dim lights flickered above like erratic fireflies, heightening the sense of urgency as he soon found a semblance of safety behind a towering stack of GHOST boxes. The towering structures loomed like silent sentinels, their oppressive weight contrasting sharply with the reassuring presence of the Autobot beside her.
"(Y/n), are you okay?" he asked, his voice a soothing balm that dripped with genuine concern.
"Hm..." (Y/n) let out a soft huff, nodding in response despite the sharp sting that shot through her right calf, a burning reminder of the mandibles that had seized her moments prior. She masked her discomfort behind a brave facade, inwardly grateful for Bumblebee's protective hold that wrapped around her like a shield. It felt as if something monstrous had attempted to consume her, the sharp edges of the mandibles leaving an indelible mark on her skin.
INK remained cradled in (Y/N)'s arms, its mechanical body whirring quietly as it scanned her wound with a protective gaze. Its appendages hovered anxiously near the injury, aware of its limitations in assisting her due to her being human.
"Hmmph." (Y/N) breathed out, though her eyes betrayed the facade she was trying to uphold.
Bumblebee hummed softly, gently placing (Y/N) on the dusty floor, the gritty surface rough against her skin, as they hid behind the stacks of GHOST weaponry. "Sorry, I should've held onto you," he lamented, his guilt palpable as he realized he'd momentarily lost focus on the passenger perched on his shoulder.
"Hmmm..." She huffed, attempting to assure Bumblebee that she was alright. However, it struck her as odd that the pain had seemingly evaporated. The cool air delicately brushed against her open wound, offering a strange respite.
"Okay, we have to find an exit without any GHOST agents seeing us," Bumblebee instructed, his tone firm and determined. "Hashtag, I need you to access the building's schematics," he added, urgency lacing his words.
"Oh-ho-ho-ho, I can do that for you?" Hashtag inquired, a flicker of uncertainty dancing in her eyes yet tinged with excitement.
"As long as there's Wi-Fi," Twitch interjected, skillfully transforming into bipedal mode and landing between her younger sister's legs with a confident thud. "I'm pretty sure you can do anything."
The Terran smiled brightly before squeezing her eyes shut. Concentrating fiercely, she reestablished her connection with the Internet, determined to seize control of the headquarters systems. "I'm in!" she exclaimed, her joy radiating as her cyan optics lit up, reflecting the digital interface she had tapped into.
While Hashtag was fiddling with the system to keep GHOST distracted, (Y/n) quietly hissed and winced, her headache rolling in as her vision momentarily rippled into a flashback.
