Chapter FOURTY-FOUR

I watched as Ni-ki zipped up my bag as well, preparing to go. He smiled at me when he caught me staring at him. I was still sitting on the bed when he noticed me frowning.

"What's wrong babe?" He asked, worried.

"I want to talk about Sunghoon's confession to me." I said.

"It's fine. I should've trusted you but we can talk about it next ti--"

"No, I want to give you a peace of mind. I know that it will bother you when we get home so I want to clear everything now."

He just looked at me without saying a word. I took a deep sigh as he sat beside me, waiting for me to explain.

"...Sunghoon did confessed that he likes me but he has no bad intentions. He said he respects the both of us so he will not do anything to harm your friendship and ruin your trust. I guess, maybe he just admires me from afar. That's it." I explained.

"But why did you try to hide it from me?" He asked.

"Because I don't want any beef with you and Sunghoon. I know how long you guys have been friends and I don't wanna ruin that. I promised hom nothing will change and I will still treat him the same so promise me, you will do the same."

He let out a sigh of defeat, "Okay."

My eyes widened in surprise, "Really?"

He nodded and smiled. I don't know what Ni-ki truly feels right now, whether it is still bothering him or he is genuinely relaxed. But what matters is I was able to be honest with him. I know nothing can ruin our relationship, let alone a single confession from his friend whom I can't see anything as but a friend too.

"You know what, I never really noticed he had feelings for me. He never showed it anyway." I said and shrugged.

"Yeah, Sunghoon is very good at hiding things."

We heard a few knocks on a door, indicating that we need to go. It must be Hani.

"Hello, are you guys done?" Hani said from outside.

"Come in." I said.

She came in and looked at me. The first thing she did was touched my forehead to check my temperature and then cupped my cheeks with both of her hands, "My boo boo is still sick?"

I chuckled and replied, "I'm fine, Hani. Thank you."

"Did you really went out to find your necklace? Where exactly did you find it?"

"On the mountain, where we snow ski."

"It must've been that Jade bitch's fault!" She shrieked angrily.

Ni-ki interrupted, "Wait, Jade?"

"Yeah. Some girl named Jade bullied Serena when we were snow skiing. She pushed her and called her names. I highly assume she pulled the necklace off Serena's neck when she was being physically violent!"
