Chapter 80

A/n: So I was going to combine the last two episodes, but since not much happened, I just wrote the last episode as a small summary of what happened. Once the next season is made, I will continue this story. 

Y/n's POV

The next day, after telling Masayuki about the dungeon, we were back in the colosseum with Souka and Mjollmile were on the stage preparing to announce the dungeon. "Alright! The moment you've all been waiting for! It's now time for the last event of Tempest's opening Festival!" Souka shouted.

"What we're about to show you is but a small portion of the incredible wonders that lie within the impregnable dungeon we've prepared for all those who dare enter!" Mjollmile called. I smiled as the door to the dungeon came out from the stage thanks to Ramiris' magic. "Demon lord Rimuru has great expectations of the adventurers gathered here today! Who among you will meet the ultimate challenge head on and conquer the labyrinth!" Mjollmile called. I bounced my leg as I looked at the dungeon, thinking about wanting to go through it myself just because I could. The adventurers that were picked out for this came onto the stage as Souka introduced them to everyone. "Is that Eren down there?" I asked, looking down at her party. I was shocked to see that Eren, Kaval and Gido were going into the dungeon. "Who the heck are these dudes? Well, at least they seem fun enough." Papa said. Souka introduced Eren to everyone as Gido complained about going into the dungeon. Erald called to Eren from the stands as Elmesia sighed before getting up and hitting Erald on the head. The last part with Masayuki and his party that had formed. "Are you ready? Let's get this thing started!" Souka called. As she was calling for the start of the dungeon raid, someone started laughing over her. "Not so fast! Didn't forget about me, did you?" Someone called. I looked up on top of the colosseum, seeing someone before they jumped down onto the stage. As he landed, I saw it was Gaiye from the tournament. "Not this guy again." Papa complained. 

"You've got some nerve using underhanded tactics to beat me during the tournament." Gaiye accused. He laughed as he looked up at papa and me. "These so-called elite four guardians of yours sure like to play dirty, don't they? Though it matters not, since Gaiye, the flowing swordsman, will shatter your ambitions." Gaiye said, pointing at us. I sighed as I slumped into my chair, not wanting to deal with Gaiye interrupting the tournament. Shion and Diablo both offered to take care of Gaiye before papa ordered them to stand down. Souka showed the magic screens again so that everyone could see what would happen in the labyrinth. Once she did that, she introduced some Dryads that were going to be going with the adventurers into the labyrinth. She explained the rules as the screens showed what the items would do. Gaiye called the item out, saying that he needed proof that it worked before doing anything with it. The dungeon doors opened as Mjollmile slipped the bracelet on before heading into the dungeon with everyone. The screens changed to the inside of the dungeon, where Souka prepared to attack Mjollmile before Gaiye stepped forward and attacked Mjollmile. Gaiye did it in such a way to torture Mjollmile before actually killing him. Once Mjollmile was killed, he vanished into some magicule bubbles before appearing outside the dungeon doors. "There you have it, folks! I'm completely fine!" Mjollmile called. The crowd cheered as Mjollmile showed he was fine, even after being killed in the dungeon. 

"Not only does it keep its wearer from dying, but this bracelet also reduces pain!" Mjollmile called. The teams came out and got the items from Souka before heading back in. The Great Lightning team charged in head first and weren't even mapping out the dungeon before accusing papa and me of using magic or something to lead them astray. They started walking forward before falling into a pit trap. Papa mentioned he didn't put any pitfall traps on the first floor before getting mad at Ramiris for placing the traps there. Eren's team was going through the dungeon with no trouble before being the first to find a treasure chest before papa noticed they hadn't fallen for any traps. I could hear papa getting upset with Ramiris as he accursed her of helping Eren's party. I giggled, thinking about how Ramiris was bribed into revealing the traps and treasure chests with cake. Souka and Mjollmile were explaining the way the dungeon worked and how the treasure chests worked. Masayuki's team were on the third floor after only about thirty minutes before they fell into a pitfall trap and making it to the fourth floor. Gaiye was rushing through the dungeon without having to deal with any of the traps. Rapheal informed me about the fact that Gaiye was using an elemental magic spell to find the stairs to the next floor. The Great Lightning team was shocked by a lightning trap that had been set in a bronze chest before being teleported out. Souka asked if they wanted to head back into the dungeon, which they agreed to before the crowd laughed at them for trying again, even with a bunch of deaths. Eren's team were being cautious before heading to the second floor and heading in the direction of the area boss. When they got to the boss, they tried to act like they had stumbled onto it, but it was pretty obvious that they had been told about it from Ramiris. 

They checked the gold chest that came from defeating the Area Boss before revealing that it was a sword. Eren complained about how she wanted it to be a rare item that a sorcerer could use. Kaval took the sword from Gido before papa talked about how it was a unique item. Eren used the whistle to get out of the dungeon before reaching the time limit. Souka asked about how they liked the dungeon before checking back in with Masayuki's party, who were now on the tenth floor with the floor boss. They encountered the boss before Jinrai jumped into the air and punched the spider, killing it in a single blow. They opened the chest, revealing a small dagger before using the whistle to return to the stage. "Amazing! They obtained a rare item and safely returned to outside the dungeon." Souka called.

"We're taking all the pitfalls out of the early floors." Papa scolded. Ramiris just scratched the back of her head, looking guilty for setting the traps there. Gaiye was getting close to the boss room before stopping in it and seeing that the boss wasn't there. Mjollmile explained that the boss monsters take about thirty minutes to respawn along with the golden chest. Gaiye turned towards the Dryad who was with him before demanding that she bring the monster back immediately. The Dryad explained that the event was finishing soon while the boss wouldn't respawn in time for him to take it on. Gaiye drew his sword before trying to attack the dryad. The Dryad avoided his attack with ease before she used magic to stop him from moving. Once Gaiye was pinned, she removed the pain nullification effect from the bracelet as her spell pushed thorns into Gaiye's body. She warned him once more before she chopped his head off and returned to the outside of the dungeon. Souka pointed out that he came out unconscious before Mjollmile explained why that happened. Gaiye woke up stunned before the team Great Lightning were crushed by a boulder before appearing outside the dungeon. Papa went down to the stage and announced that those who could make it to the bottom could challenge me or him to a duel. One last feast was thrown for the festival before the next day, where we dealt with the merchants and discussed our next plans with everyone for the magi-train. Papa mostly kept me out of that, since he knew I wasn't going to pay that much attention to everything he had to talk about with everyone.
