Ron nodded slowly, his eyes never leaving hers. "Okay. I understand that. But we can work through it, right?"

"I can't promise you anything other than friendship right now."

Ron nodded, trying to keep his emotions in check. "Okay." He paused and sighed. "Back to the friend zone."

Kim felt a pang of regret. "Ron, I'm sorry. I never wanted to hurt you."

Ron rocked himself. "I know, but you did. You should've told me that you were actively thinking about losing yourself to another person. And that person being Shego."

Words were on the tip of her tongue and her mouth made her say, "At least it's not another man."

Ron's met her eyes and turned away. "I guess that's something."

She cheated on him by thinking about being with Shego and then she met up with her to talk to her about sleeping with her. "I'm a jerk. If I had told you about it you would've begged me not to."

"Damn right. You were my girlfriend. We've been together what a handful of years and haven't gone all the way. Don't you think I wanted to back then? You never seemed interested in it. It was me that tried to put moves on you. You always stopped us from going too far. Maybe you are more of a lesbian than you even know."

"Maybe." She said in a whisper. "But I still want to be your friend."

"I want that too." Ron said with half a smile.

Shortly after the convo they hugged goodbye.

Kim felt like she was walking on eggshells as she approached the two weeks deadline. The tension between her and Shego was palpable, but she knew she needed to be honest with herself before she could make any decisions about their future.

During the days that followed, Kim found herself reflecting on her past with Shego. The way she felt when they fought alongside each other. The moments of camaraderie and shared victory here and there. It was more than friendship, she realized.

Kim was at Tara Mankey's place when Shego texted her.

'Let's meet up in Go City. There's a nice Italian place we can go to.'

Kim felt a mix of excitement and anxiety. She hadn't seen Shego in person in a while. They had talked, but it was mostly small talk via texts. The real conversation was going to happen soon.

'Sure, when?' Kim texted back.

'Tomorrow around 2 p.m.'

The text from Shego made Kim's heart race. She replied with a simple 'Okay' and put her phone away, trying to ignore the butterflies in her stomach. The next morning seemed to drag on forever and she barely slept.

When the time finally came, Kim drove to Go City. Her thoughts racing as she parked outside the Italian restaurant called Elenore's.  She could see Shego's SUV parked nearby and her heart skipped a beat. She took a deep breath and walked inside. She told the host she was meeting someone and went to find Shego.

Shego was sitting at a table in a cozy corner. She looked up as Kim approached and warmly smiled. Kim's stomach was in knots as she sat down across from her. The restaurant was kinda busy and the scent of garlic and tomato sauce filled the air.

They ordered their food and small talked for a bit before Kim decided to say. "Shego, I've been thinking a lot about what you said."
