~~~~~~~~~Your POV~~~~~~~~~"This is bad," I said to myself in a panic, staring at my reflection in the bathroom mirror. "This is really, really bad..!"
It was five in the morning, and I hadn't been able to sleep a wink that night. I was too busy twisting and turning, and whenever I did fall asleep for a moment, the nightmares woke me up too quickly to get any real rest.
And the itching was getting unbearable.
This wasn't normal, something was off. We weren't supposed to have a full moon for a few days, these symptoms aren't supposed to start until then!
I figured maybe a glass of water would help, so I washed my face and went to the kitchen, hoping to somewhat relax.
What I didn't expect was seeing Stan in the dark kitchen in his robe, crumbling up a piece of paper as he grumbled.
"Uh.. Stan?"
"Wha- huh?" Stan turned around, letting out a sigh at the sight of me. "Oh, it's just you. Why'ee you awake so early?"
"Just had trouble sleeping," I replied. Then I tilted my head in question. "Why are you in the kitchen with the lights off?"
"The lightbulb exploded," he said as he pointed up. Sure enough, only pieces of broken glass remained. "And your dumb boyfriend used up the remaining ones."
"Ah, of course he did." I immediately headed for the door; maybe a walk was just what I needed. "I can go get some more."
"No need, kid. You've already pulled more than you're paid for lately and I'm not planning to increase your pay check." He said this while ruffling my hair like a parent to their child, so I got mixed signals.
He didn't say anything else after that, just left the shack. So I went back to the original plan, getting a glass of water and sitting at the table, a yawn leaving my lips.
Eventually, my vision started growing hazy, and my mind started to wonder until..
mm...
until...
...
I was startled back awake when the room suddenly lit up. "W-wha-?"
"Does anyone see this?!" Mabel yelled, everyone now in the kitchen, including Ford standing on a stool as he fixed the lightbulb. "This is what a hero looks like right here!!"
Stan was back too, holding a new box of lightbulbs, his expression slightly.. heartbroken? "I thought we were out of lightbulbs."
"Oh, we were," Ford replied. "So I invented my own! It will last a thousand years and the light it emits makes your skin softer!"
Soos caressed his cheek at the mention of that. "Never have I known such softness!"
"Anyway, where were you?"
Stan immediately threw the box away and left. Once I was awake enough, I realized what exactly happened.
Now I'm feeling really bad..
"You're awake!" Mason walked over to me, and that's when I realized his vest was about my shoulders like a blanket. "Are you feeling okay? Why were you sleeping here?"
