Chapter 4

Preston's p.o.v.

I really like this Jerome dude. For some reason he brings up my spirit. He's kinda like my crown. He calms me down and will keep me from harms way. Jerome had a cute face like a puppy who got a new bone. His happy go face shine bright against my shy personality. I always had a trouble time to make friends with others. I'm afraid I will burn them. But with Jerome it's like I'm not even lava for him but a other creature. I always have to drink a anti-flame potion I make with lava crystals. "Preston buddy!" Jerome yelled in my face. My face turn bright red in embarrassed. See I'm such an awkward kid. "S-sorry " I stuttered hiss. Jerome grin bearing his teeth. I laughed a little because how silly he looked. Jerome grab my hand and lead me to the front of the cave. The night was at it's fullest potential; the stars were it's brightest. It was a clear night with no clouds and no sticky humidity but a gentle breeze with stars were painted in the sky. I look at my crown I was currently wearing. I always thought I just need my crown for happiness but Jerome is telling me otherwise. "Why did you brought me outside Jerome?" I asked. Jerome didn't answer but I noticed he was holding his golden dog tags tight. The reflect of his cocoa brown eyes shown the moon with a red star next to it. I thought it was my mind tricking me but once I looked up there it was. The moon holding a red star. Mom always tells me if you see a red star on a clear night with the moon by its side it means a special born nearby. Around our village there was always a legend that foretells a young creature with a human mate will stop an evil force. He will heroically save his village from harms way and become king. I never really believe it because the elders will always say that if we are bad but now I really think the legend is real......

Sorry for those short chapters I want everyone to have a chance to be introduced and so forth. After this, it's just going to be Jerome and other characters. Don't worry about the humans yet they will come along at some point.
