Description:
Marinette has gotten texts from some boy named Dick Tracy. She has not even met him. Why does he have her number? Imagine her surprise when she sees the new boy arrive at the school.
This story is a DC Comics Miraculous crossover story.
Marinette's POV:
I hear my phone buzz. Agh, it is him again.
I refuse to answer it. Who is this guy?
I know he says he is Dick Tracy. I have no idea who that could even be.
I ran out the door and arrived at school on time. Well, that's certainly a first.
"Hi, Adrien!"I say.
"Hi, Marinette!" He says, flashing me a grin.
I entered the class, taking my usual seat behind Adrien. I could not wait to tell him how I felt.
I was astonished when the new boy entered the room. He looked in my direction with a huge grin and winked at me. Great, he is a flirt. I could see that as much. I rolled my eyes at the way the other girls drolled at him.
"Hi, I just moved her from Gotham City. I am the adopted son of Batman. My name is Dick Tracy."
I was stunned when I heard the name. So, the new boy in school kept sending me all those messages. The question was, why? How did he have my number? I did not recall having ever met him before.
The teacher told him to sit next to me now that Alya sat with her boyfriend Nino. I was not too thrilled about the idea, neither was Adrien. "Hey, what is the big idea, having him sit next to Marinette?"
"Adrien Agreste, it is my class, and as such, I am allowed to request the students sit anywhere I prefer," The teacher replied. I heard Adrien sigh.
Time skip!
After school, "Hi, I don't believe we have met, pretty little thing," The new guy said. "I am Dick Tracy, and you are?" "First, I am not a pretty little thing, I am a person. Second, my name is Marinette Dupain-Cheng, as if you did not know." I scoffed. "Why are you so angry?" He asked.
"I don't know, perhaps it is cause you will not quit texting me," I snapped at him.
"Texting you, I don't know what you mean," He smirked.
"Hey, get off it. I don't like you sending Marinette texts," Adrien snarled at him. I was stunned. This was the first time Adrien had done anything to show an interest in me. I was pleased.
"What are you? Her keeper?" Dick Tracy asked.
"No, I am her boyfriend," Adrien lied wrapping an arm around me. I did not bother to correct him.
I could tell this drove the newbie nuts.
I walked hand in hand with Adrien to his place. The new guy followed us. He had some nerve.
"Ugh, can't you take a hint? I am not interested in you. So, back off!" I yelled.
Adrien smirked. The two of us went inside, letting the gate slam behind us. The other fellow could not get inside.
Buzz, beep...beep went my phone. Not again, I thought. I hit the block number button. There, that ought to teach him, I thought.
I went with Adrien to the library part of the mansion. We were alone at last. I smiled. He did the same. "Mind telling me why you told Mr. Tracy, the new guy we were dating?" I asked. "I hope you don't mind. I like you." Adrien confessed. "Awe, I like you too," I confessed.
The two of us kissed. Adrien asked me out, and obviously, I said yes.
"I hope he will stop bugging me soon. The whole thing is getting on my nerves," I said.
"Oh, don't worry, I am sure the whole thing will blow over soon, blueberry muffin," Adrien responded.
I hoped he was right. Adrien and I finished the assignment quickly. Then, we had dinner together. Adrien took me out and insisted on paying for "his girl." I liked the sound of that.
Being his girl, I mean.
Little did I know that I had not heard the last from Dick Tracy.
The story continues in Driving Me Batty two-shot Part 2
