Jin's eyes fluttered open, the blurry figures of the other members swimming into focus. A dull ache throbbed in his wrist, a stark reminder of the previous night's despair.
"Get ready, hyung," Namjoon said gently, his expression a mixture of concern and a strange sort of resignation. "The marriage is going to happen."
Jin blinked, confusion clouding his still-groggy mind. "Whose marriage?"
Suga's voice, usually laced with a hint of sarcasm, was surprisingly flat. "Jungkook and..."
"Jungkook and Jimin?" Jin interrupted, his heart sinking. "You all fixed their marriage while I was sleeping? After everything?"
Taehyung shook his head slowly. "Let Suga-hyung finish his sentence, hyung. Jungkook and your marriage."
"What?!" Jin exclaimed, bolting upright, a surge of disbelief and a flicker of something akin to hope coursing through him.
He scrambled out of bed and practically sprinted towards Jungkook's room, his earlier despair forgotten in the face of this bewildering news. He found Jungkook standing by the window, his back to the door.
"Is it true?" Jin asked, his voice breathless with anticipation.
"What?" Jungkook replied, turning around, his expression unreadable.
"Mine and your marriage!" Jin blurted out, his eyes wide with a mixture of hope and trepidation.
"Yes," Jungkook said flatly. "Get ready. I don't want to be late."
A wave of elation washed over Jin, but a nagging doubt lingered. "What happened suddenly? Why are you agreeing to marry me?"
Jungkook's gaze hardened, the softness he usually reserved for his hyungs completely absent. "I'm marrying you for one reason and one reason only, Jin-hyung. To save Jimin from a... a bitch, a witch like you."
The elation in Jin's heart shattered, replaced by a sharp, agonizing pain. Jungkook's words were like a physical blow.
"So," Jin said, his voice trembling, "you're marrying me to take revenge for what I did to Jimin? That's how much you love him?"
"Yes," Jungkook said, his voice cold and devoid of emotion. "I love Jimin that much. And after we're married, you'll see a side of me you've never seen before. You're used to my bunny nature, right? Get ready for the wolf."
Tears welled in Jin's eyes, the joy of a moment ago completely extinguished. He walked towards Jungkook, his heart aching, and wrapped his arms around him in a tight embrace. "Whatever the reason is, Jungkook-ah... I don't care. I just know I love you. And you will be my husband until my last breath." He clung to Jungkook, desperate to hold onto this unexpected, albeit painful, turn of events, even as the cold reality of Jungkook's intentions settled heavily upon him.
