Rachel's p/v
"You should alter these clothes, they're too good to give up on them."
"What purpose do they serve on my future projects bag? They can become yours," Mary spins me around, "don't you think?"
I look at myself in the mirror. The clothes fit me, but
"They aren't me. 2019 Rachel would've melted if she saw herself in this outfit."
"Well, tell 2020 Rachel to try new things out. You aren't changing yourself, just experimenting."
"I do love clothes."
"Me too so style me." Mary grabs my hand and pulls me to her closet. Don't let her down.Mary styled me in her white UNIF Angel tank top, her 90s does 70s vintage Mudd bell bottom jeans, 2000s white small platform boots, blue and white paisley bandana, and blue/white floral hobo style bag. She bought the boots for $5 at a yard sale with the intention of selling them for a higher price. Lucky for me, I get them for free, along with everything else. Unfortunately for her, she lost out on $50 she could've made.
I styled Mary in her 20s/30s ivory tie top with pink silk trim, flutter sleeves, and a great sailor-like collar, 90s navy denim high waisted skirt with gold buttons, white platform heels, pastel pink fishnet tights, and a 2000s muted pink shimmery mini hobo style bag. Apparently the purse was part of a halloween costume she wore to a party in 8th grade. Sara and her minions were there and made fun of Mary for wearing it. Glad to help her let go of trauma attached to accessories!
The outfits we're going to wear for the performance is so cute that they're going to beg us to wear them forever. Mary really knows how to find clothes in any store, even at Target. To be fair, she shops there primarily for bathing suits and skirts. Not even Walmart. That's middle class activities right there.
"I'll be right back, gotta put my p.e clothes away."
"Oh shit, I forgot to bring mine."
"Rachel!" Mary exclaims.
"One day won't hurt anyone. Go on, I'll wait for you outside."
"I won't be long." She enters the girl's locker room. I sit on the brick bench. Huh. Foreign morning. I totally expected a completely different morning.Tyler isn't going to school, he's going to stay home and rest. He won't be on his phone so he'll text me when he's on campus for us to talk. There's nothing to worry about, I know he's not mad.
"Why does he want to talk? Why does he always have to be mad at me." I lay my head on Declan's shoulder.
"There could be a million reasons as to why he wants to talk to you. I doubt any of them have something to do with him being mad at you."
"Like what."
"Maybe not talking to you all weekend made him realize that he never wants to do that again. Perhaps he realized he treats him mom poorly. Or, he realized that he doesn't want to sing and act for a living."
"What if someone told him they saw me and Jacob hanging out. There was a car that slowed down while we were walking to the bus stop."
"There's a theory. And how should this make you feel?"
"Calm because I did nothing wrong. This is all a misunderstanding."
"Rach, he doesn't want you guys hanging out like at all. Don't make this harder for yourself."
"If Tyler is upset that I'm doing volunteer things with my colleague than that's his problem. I can't just ignore Jacob when he pitches really good fundraising ideas."
"You have a point. Stand your ground, Rach."
"Are we done with the questions?" The substitute teacher asks.
"Actually, we're-"He takes our packets away. I give him a worried expression. We fake cry and hug each other. There goes my perfect C+.
Quinn's p/v
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I rather be at school than spending the whole day with my parents. They took the day off work to make up for the time they lost while I was away. Over exaggerated much?Am I seeing this correctly? Tyler is here with his mom. Yes! They say at the table in front of ours, and Tyler's back is towards me.
"Why do we have to go out for breakfast? The plan was for me to relax."
"Don't give me that, Tyler. I missed you! Is that a crime? I missed my only son?"
"Take Mrs. Holt's yoga classes and get off my back."
