Despite all of our efforts, Drix ended up taking both remaining blades back to their hideout where they were assisting to free Thunderfang.
We spoke with Arin after the aftermath, "It's true. My parents are dead. I saw the headstones myself."
He looked down at his feet, "I didn't even get to say goodbye to them."
We all felt saddened for our friend, "Aw, man..." Frak mumbled.
"Arin, I'm so sorry," Sora softly said.
He didn't respond, merely looking away.
"How did...?" Lloyd asked what truly happened to them, "I mean...what happened?"
Arin walked up to him, "The Merge happened!"
"My parents died because of what Master Wu did!" He declared.
Lloyd wanted to see reason, "If my uncle really caused the Merge, I have to believe he had good a reason."
"No reason makes it okay that my family died!"
The Green Ninja was in a tight spot, "No, I didn't mean...I just..."
"Lloyd..." I walked to his side, holding his shoulder. I shook my head.
Arin continued, "But more people will die if the Forbbiden Five use those blades, and I need Ras back."
Nya stepped in, "So you want to work with us?"
"If...If that's okay," he answered hesitantly.
My brother smiled lightly, "Of course it is."
Kai held the young boy's shoulder, "You're one of us."
"I concur," Zane acknowledged.
Frak smiled, "Was hoping we'd get to fight together."
"I'd rather risk my life with my best friend than be safe without you," Sora stated.
"Then let's get going," Nya urged on.
"Not to precipitate on this procession," Zane interrupted, "but given the rate Drix was travelling with the final two Prismatic Blades, catching up to him before he reaches Thunderfang is an impossibility."
Frak grew confused, "Impossible as in...it can't happen?"
"Yes," The Ice Ninja replied, "I am indeed using the word impossible to mean 'impossible'."
Kai huffed, "I hate Drix. The second worst time I've had fighting insects."
"First time was that picnic with Jay," He smiled at the memory.
Nya soon got in his face, "That was my picnic with Jay. I didn't invite you! And I told you not to rub honey in your hair!"
"Well, Jay double-dog dared me!" Kai protested, "I didn't want to back out and look uncool."
"Please, K.S. You were never cool in the first place," I teased with a smile.
He turned my way with a pout, "Are you trying to hurt my feelings?! For shame, Sensei! For shame!"
