Jahaan

It has been five days since my mother and I are living with Dhivti, and I, Jahaan Joshi, am loving every second of it. Reason? Dhivti Verma. God, I love her. She is so easy to tease and even easier to love except she doesn't believe she is worth it. Why, Dhivti?

I was returning from my clinic. I had some urgent work and it was already night.

Once I entered, it was too quiet. I frowned. Where are my girls?

I walk towards the kitchen to find it empty, too.

"Maa?" I call out.

I pull out my phone to call one of them when sheetal aunty comes running downstairs, tears flowing out of her eyes.

"Jahaan," she whimpers as she runs to me, "Aunty?" I say and steady her as she reaches to me.

"What happened, aunty?"

"Ja-haan, Chhaya-Dhivti..." she stammers and panics.

"Aunty? What happened? What happened to Maa and Dhivti? Where are they?"

"He-he took them," she whimpers.

My blood runs cold. "What?" I whisper.

"That man took them," she sobs.

I make her sit on the sofa, "Aunty, please shaant ho jaye aur thik se bataiye kya hua?" I speak.

She takes deep breaths, "Jahaan, he came here, he- he came with two other men and took both of them forcefully. He- he threw their phones when they were trying to call you and I- I didn't have your number, I- I tried but he- he pushed me so hard, i hit my head somewhere and fainted. When I woke up, they were gone," she sobs more as she finishes reciting.

I immediately check her head for any injuries, "Where are you hurt, aunty? Show me," she holds my wrists, "Am fine, Jahaan, just please find them," she whispers.

"I will. I will find them. Nothing will happen to them, I promise." I vow and get up and pull my phone out, calling Karan.

"Home. Right now," I speak once he picks up and hang up, my tone cold and serious and he knows what that means.

Fifteen minutes later, he walks inside hurriedly and I stride towards him and throw a punch to his jaw. He winces but I care less about him right now.

I pull at his collar, "This is your security? That fucker took them. What were your useless officers doing out there? Huh?" I yell as I hit another punch.

"Jahaan-"

"Just shut the fuck up, Karan," I pull at his collar, "If anything happens to either of the two, you are dead," I warn him.

I know, I know that Karan is a strong, hardworking man and it was not his fault. I even know he sent his best officers but I can't help it.

"We had a traitor, Jahaan. One of the officers was working for him," he reveals and I take a deep breath.

"I don't bloody care. I want Maa and Dhivti safe and sound. Do you hear me?" I seethe and he nods.

"Bring your best team here. I can't leave sheetal aunty here. Maa is wearing a necklace that has a tracker. Track them," I say and he gets to work immediately.

It has been one hour since we were tracking and searching.

"It is some abandoned warehouse," Namit, one of Karan's men says and sends the location to both our phones.

After reassuring Sheetal Aunty and leaving one of the most trusted officer with her, Karan and I left in the car to the warehouse.

"Jahaan- I'm sorry," Karan says. For the first time in days, I don't see him joking around and playing. He is pensive.
