The following morning the twins charged into my room to inform me that we were going on a boat ride; at first I had thought they meant the glass bottom boat ride we arranged but I was corrected when they told me, "a big fancy boat." At breakfast all confusion was cleared up when my parents informed me that we were invited to dinner, the whole family. Normally the idea of spending an evening wining and dining on a luxury yacht would be a treat but when the host is the very person who is also hosting your ex and his possible new girlfriend-your prospects for the evening to go down.

Why my parents chose to accept the awkward invitation, well I only have myself to blame, I have spent months convincing myself and those around me that I had moved pass all that I Nate. As it turns out I had done quite the job too as my parents thought nothing of it that I'd be breaking bread with my ex. Maybe before last night I would have been able to put on a better face but now I was slowly cracking.

There was no need to do that much preparation as we spent the day before primping and shopping and I had picked up a few dresses, thankfully I had bought one that would fit to the occasion. It was a vintage inspired champagne lace cocktail dress complete with delicate beading and sequins. It curved to my silhouette perfectly.

We arrived at the docks before sunset just as our host requested, as the evening was to begin with cocktails on the sun deck at sunset. The super yacht was truly a magnificent sight, it was just under 70m in length and could managed up to 20 guests with 19 crew and even has an elevator I found out later on.

Our host, Ruben Stohlz was self-made billionaire in his late sixties at this point he had his hand in everything, from airlines to beauty salons. He was a ruthless business man but somehow had such a warm soul. He was, as my father would describe, a mentor of sorts I do remember him visiting the manor a few times and that my father would spend many hours on the golf course. What was a surprise was to find out that he was my god father, I always thought I never hand any god parent but that was not the case. I queried why he didn't make himself known, my father said he didn't like the attention but sought to it that I had all the frivolous things a god child might need. He was responsible for all my first car and even my Europe summer tour; all these years I had just assumed my parents were paying for everything and that was how he like it to remain. The twins disappeared below deck soon after we arrived, as Ruben organised for a babysitter, which allowed to relaxed a little more without of wonder about children running around and getting themselves into trouble-to which I was grateful for as a few glasses of champagne would be needed to help me survived this evening.

"I know we've basically seen the same sunset everyday but it's different viewing it from a luxurious super yacht." Ben commented as he came to stand next to me. "If you had said to me a year ago that one day I would be sipping champagne on a 250 foot yacht, while I am on vacation with New York royalty." He paused to hand me a new glass of champagne, "I'm not even sure how to finish that-cause I just don't think anyone would actually say that."
