𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒖𝒏𝒌𝒆𝒓 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒉𝒖𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒅, the kind of silence that almost hummed, only the faint rattle of the pipes and the buzz of the lights filling the air. Jennifer sat at the map table, a glass of whiskey in front of her, untouched. She kept her eyes on the door until Dean finally came back, slow and heavy-footed.
"She's out?" Jennifer asked, her voice soft but clipped.
Dean nodded, dropping into the chair across from her. "Yeah. Knocked out cold. Think the day finally hit her."
Jennifer exhaled through her nose, fingers drumming against the glass. "Good. She needs it."
For a while, neither spoke. Then Jennifer cleared her throat, almost grudgingly. "Remember when she said bout... a witch. In her head."
Deans eyes lifted sharply. "Yeah" he said quickly. Jennifer leaned forward slightly asking. "Dean... I need to know something. Has anything like this ever happened before? With her powers?"
Dean's shoulders tensed, his gaze dropping to the table. He didn't answer right away.
"Don't you dare do that," Jennifer snapped, the edge of panic sharpening her voice. "Don't shut me out. She's my daughter too. If there's something I don't know—something that's been kept from me—I need to hear it now."
Dean dragged a hand over his face, muttering under his breath before finally meeting her eyes. "Jen... she's had moments. Since she was a kid. Times when her powers... got away from her."
Jennifer's breath caught. "What do you mean, got away?"
Dean hesitated, then spoke slowly, like every word was pulled out of him. "She's lost control. Hurt people. A couple of times... worse than that."
Jennifer stared at him, disbelief written across her face. "Worse than that?"
Dean's voice dropped, heavy and raw. "There were accidents. People died, Jen. Hunters, creatures, friends—hell, even Samuel Campbell. She didn't mean to. She was scared, lashing out. But the blood's still on her hands."
