A newborn bud,
Warmed by the sun,
Grows from the mud,
It's life only begun.
Rises from its midst,
The red of love,
Into petals mixed,
That once were white as the dove.
The bud is opening,
Slowly, gently,
A new life revealing,
Clean, lovely.
The rose unfolded,
Gazing to the heavens,
Now emboldened,
In its baptism.
