"Banged Your Stepbrother"

A few days have passed since I have met Ace. I didn't know what it was, but I had a queasy feeling about him. Nick said that we broke up. Maybe that's the reason why, but I couldn't place my finger on it.

I was munching on a granola bar in the kitchen when Nick came in.

My breathing hitched when I saw what he was wearing.

It wasn't fancy. It was the clothes he normally wears everyday. A pair of jeans and a baseball t-shirt.

I must've been staring at him for quite some time because when I focused on his face, he had a smug look.

I scoffed, "Pompous ass."

He threw his head back and laughed. It was music to my ears. I have never heard him laugh like this. It was carefree. I suddenly wanted to remember everything about him. I wanted to know the happy moments. The sad moments. The struggles we went through. The secret midnight meeting, if we even had them.

I gently smiled and shook my head.

"Let's go," I muttered.

"Brinley!" a voice yelled.

I whirled around the hallway, looking for the owner of the voice.

I finally saw Kole running towards me.

I raised my eyebrows, "What's wrong?"

He came to a stop in front of me, breathing heavily. He held up his index finger, as if he's telling me to wait.

He finally caught his breath and smiled at me.

"Nothing," he chirped.

I stared at him in disbelief and then smacked his arm.

"You ass, I thought someone was fighting again."

He chuckled and pulled me in for a hug.

Kissing my head, he said, "Nah, I just wanted to see you. Nick's been taking up all your time with God knows what activity."

I blushed and elbowed him.

"Shh! Not too loudly."

He smirked, "Come on, Brin, you'd be like a queen in the guys' eyes once they find out you banged your stepbrother!"

I huffed, "If you don't lower your voice, I will kick you in the nuts. Plus, we didn't even have sex yet!"

He guffawed, "I'm just messing with you, love. However, I so did not need to know that."

I shook my head at him.

We goofed around for a little bit before walking to Chemistry.

The final bell finally rang, and I couldn't be more happier.

I walked to where Nick parked the car at and saw him waiting for me.

I smiled, "This is a surprise. I'm usually the one waiting. I even remembered this one time when it was raining and you took forever."

His smile dropped from his face, "You remember that?"

I nodded and got in the car.

He was seated in the driver's seat, with his hand on the shifting gear, but he didn't move.

He slowly turned to me with his eyes wide.

"What?" I asked, concerned as to why he was acting like this.

"Y-You remembered something!" he exclaimed.

I froze and grinned, "Yeah, I did. And there wasn't any pain either. It was just there, you know? Like, I didn't have to think hard about it. It just came to me."

He beamed at me, "This is good news."

I agreed with him and the rest of the car ride was spent in silence. Both of us lost in our own thoughts.

We finally arrived in our driveway, but before I could open the door, Nick grabbed my arm.

"Brin, we need to talk."
