3rd person POV
As he walked into YogLabs, he felt something strange. It was ominous. Chilling. And yet, strangely familiar. He saw testificates scrambling around like animals, with papers and disorganised lives.
He heard screaming in the distance, a common noise within the bloodthirsty brains of everyone who worked there. What he needed to do was make sure that no one would meddle with the world he was in now.
You see, the portals are connected to YogLabs in many hidden passages. So Xephos and many others have the privilege to travel across dimensions with ease.
His job was to keep everything that Sjin and Duncan change... In check. To stop them from destroying the universe. To stop them from going mad or becoming someone they're not. What he was doing was dangerous, but it was necessary. Changing time was a complicated thing, and one mistake could bring his downfall... But.
But Xephos wanted his friends to have happy endings. He felt that they deserved them. Even if he didn't.
As he made his way back to the little house that they owned, he wondered if Duncan was going to change. If... Sjin was going to pretend to fall in love.
He wondered, because this could be their only chance.

Duncan felt his heart lurch, as he heard the familiar cry.
"Duncan!"As Nano passed through the glass, tears streaming down her face.
He hesitated. A few brief seconds passed as Duncan gave his answer.
"Kim."He responded, as light bounced in Nano's eyes an Sjin gave him a worried, yet bemused, look.
"You remembered me! A small voice in my head said that you would forget... Everything."She glanced at the floor, an Duncan couldn't help but notice the young, energetic expressions that she held then.
"Yeah..."Duncan looked towards Sjin, who was leaning against the wall.
"Oh... Hi Sjin!"She smiled, as he flicked his hair like a movie villain. His silent, sharp eyes piercing hers.
"Bug off, flux girl."He spoke coldly, though he tossed around worries in his head. What if...?
Her smile fell, and a firm look replaced it."Is you say so, farmer."Nano left the room, deciding to take a look around the compound.
Duncan gave Sjin a warning look, and he replied with a smirk, indicating that he was acting. Duncan mouthed a simple 'be careful' before he exited and left his companion standing there.
"Oh, how I love being the bad guy."Sjin whispered too himself as he strode off.

Duncan knew that it would come up soon, it was inevitable. With Nano, he was happy. She a me up to him a certain day, though. This day, Duncan knew was going to be a day he regretted for the majority of his life.
"Hi Dunc."She started shyly.
"Hi, Nano..."He replied, equally as awkward.
"I have s-something t-to say."She stuttered.
"Hmm...?"He urged her to carry on, as he turned his back on his work.
"Duncan... I... I think I love you." Her hands immediately clamped over her mouth and her face turned a bright red. She shook her head in embarrassment and frustration, as the Scientist put his arms around her, and whispered in her ear:
"Don't worry, Nano. I love you too."
That was the most joyous moment of Nano's life. She was never happier. Duncan knew that bonds are only meant to be broken, so no matter how much he loved or hated Nano... Everything he didn't want to happen to her... Will.
Duncan just needs someone o have his back during his life. He wanted to love, live and forget. Forget that everyone is just a clone. Forget that he rewound time and is changing the future. He doesn't know the true pain and torture of being alone. The world is an isolate place. Sad, alone. Much like Duncan. And Duncan hoped to God that he an Nano would be able to get out of this alive.
