Alyssa

There was a knock on my door and I didn't say anything but my dad walked in and laid down in my bed. He pulled me into his arms and I just laid there on his chest.

"What's wrong Alley?" My dad finally said.

"I feel so stupid for liking that guy and even stupider that he was sleeping with my best friend." I said.

He sighed. "Yeah, I didn't like him anyways because I knew what he was up to. You got a whole life ahead of you, so don't be tripping on these young guys. They just want to have sex with you, that's it."

"Well, how will I know if there is a guy that actually likes me for me?" I asked him.

"Firstly, I will like him, but you'll know. I understand you getting to that age of dating and I don't ever want you to be stupid for a boy. If he can't treat you right then leave him because it's always someone out there that can do it better. You deserve the world and so much more."

"I want someone like you but I don't think there are people like you out there that's my age. I love you and mom's relationship, it's so perfect." I said looking at my dad.

He laughed. "Alyssa, I swear it's not. I took your mom through some shit, but I love her to death and wouldn't trade her for the world. We were friends first and it went from there, you don't have to rush it. Take your time."

"I love you dad." I said giving him a hug.

"I love you too now don't be moping around here, it's more fish in sea. Pick your head up baby girl." My dad said.

"Okay." I said smiling and letting him go.

He got up from the bed and walked out and for some reason I felt a lot better. I can't wait until we eat our thanksgiving feast tomorrow.

My phone started ringing and I grabbed it and looked at the caller ID, it was Ryan Chancellor. Omg, I forgot I gave him my number a few days ago. I decided to answer.

"Hello there." I said answering.

"What's good Alley Kat? You know who this is?" He said.

"Yes, you texted me but I never texted you back days ago." I said laughing.

"That's real fucked up, I wanted to chop it up with you or chill."

"What does 'chop it up' mean?"

He laughs. "Talk to you...you know get to know you and talk."

"That's funny." I said.

"What are you up to?" He asked me.

"Just laying in bed, I was irritated but my dad fixed it."

"What was wrong...if you don't mind me asking?"

He sounded so good right now in his sleepy voice. I didn't even know much about him but he's keeping the conversation alive and I like it.

"Turns out that guy I was dealing with was messing around with my friend."

"I'm sorry to hear that baby girl, you can do so much better anyways. You're gorgeous."

"Why do you like me?" I asked.
