Chapter Five

You stride confidently up to the station and stop outside the ticket office. A bored-looking old man is sitting at the desk, tapping his fingers on the counter, his dull blue eyes glazed over. You tap smartly on the glass standing between the two of you. The ticket man jumps, startled at your sudden appearance. He sighs heavily and says in a tired voice, "Can I help you, young lady?"

"Yes, actually." you say timidly. "When is the next train coming?"

"Depends where you want to get to." he replies.

You tell him your address. He nods and begins to explain all of the possible train routes, talking to quickly that you barely have time to take any of it in. You nod stupidly and turn away, none the wiser and completely clueless. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all. The ticket man watches you, his eyes narrow.

"You haven't got a clue where you're going, do you?" he says.

"No, sir." you mumble.

"I thought so." The ticket man opens a small drawer embedded into the wall behind him. He produces a little slip of paper - a train ticket. He explains that a train will be departing towards your area in five minutes time, and if you're willing to ride it then you can purchase the ticket.

You begin to have second doubts about this train ride, but decide to ignore them and snatch up the ticket. You pay the ticket man, thank him gratefully, and head out to the train depot. Much to your surprise, the sound of trains pulling in and out of the station isn't the only commotion that you can hear. 

You can quite clearly hear loud, high-pitched screams coming from further down the platform. There's a large mob of girls racing along, shrieking and squealing louder than the approaching train. They're coming towards you at a rather alarming speed, and you'll be trampled if you don't watch out. Your face turns as white as a sheet.

"What should I do?" you cry.

If you decide to try and make a run for it, go to Chapter Six.

If you stay put and take on the screaming mob, go to Chapter Seven.
