You take a deep breath and tell your story to Paul, right from standing at the bus shelter all the way up to when he saved your from being flattened by a mob of deranged fangirls. Paul listens with some interest. His eyebrows keep wiggling, moving up and down like yo-yos. When you conclude your story he cocks his head to one side.

"So you're trying to get home?" Paul says.

You nod.

"And this is the train you're supposed to be riding on?"

You nod again.

"So... do you need any further help?" Paul asks.

You take a moment to consider this. You're on the right train, so you should be all right from here. You glance at Paul. He looks a little anxious, scuffing the toe of his shoe on the cabin carpet. You can tell that he needs to be somewhere - possibly getting back to the other Beatles. You could lie and say you need further help just to spend more time with him, but that wouldn't be fair.

You shake your head at Paul and thank him politely for saving you. Paul flashes a charming smile that sends chills down your spine. He gives you a jaunty wave and saunters off down the corridor. You watch him disappear through the door in the cabin that leads to the main part of the train.

You can't resist smiling.

You talked to Paul McCartney!

Still, the moment's gone and you have to find a seat. You gather yourself together and head off in the opposite direction, chuckling softly to yourself.

Wait until the kids back home hear about this!
