CHAPTER TWENTY THREE: When The Unimaginable Happens

Amara Abdullahi

Darkness. It was all I could see around me, but I could still hear everything very clearly. I could hear voices surrounding me, unfamiliar ones in particular. "We can't keep her locked up in here. Please we'll get arrested! I have a family to think ab-"A random man exclaimed. His voice sounds oddly familiar..I just can't point it out.

"Silence!"

I quivered at the sound of another mysterious man's voice.

This is all starting to make sense to me. He told me not to tell anyone but I told my dad and now he's getting his revenge. And he's using me to do just that. "She'll wake up soon and when she does make sure she's still tied up." The man whisper-shouted. I can't believe this is really happening to me.

Suddenly the blindfold on my face fell off and I could see again. I was in a dark room with a light bulb hanging over me, there weren't any windows or anyway for me to get out. The only way I could escape is from the front door which was bolted shut. The man who stood in front of me gave me an evil smirk. I then looked around and saw about five burly looking men surrounding me, all of whom had masks on.

"Hey there, cutie." The middle aged looking man with a scar above his eye said as he ran his hand  over my face disgustingly. I cringed at his touch. "P-Please let me go.." I pleaded with tears streaming down my face. My family must be worried about me. I didn't tell anyone I was going for a walk so I could clear my head, I also didn't think to bring my phone with me because it was dead. I feel so stupid.

"Aw," He chuckled at me. "No can do. We need you to lure your father here, sorry it's just business."

Just business? Kidnapping someone against their will is business? Oh how I wanted to get up and punch this man in the face. I just can't help but wonder what my siblings are thinking right now. I hope they're not losing their minds. Ya Allah please let everything turn out alright, please.

"See you later!" I shouted as I walked towards my car. Today was a really long day especially after soccer practice, coach just couldn't stop criticizing me all day. Also my phone kept on ringing none stop and he wouldn't let me answer it. Vmmmm! It buzzed in my hand once again.

"Hello?" I said once I picked it up. "Hamid have you seen Amara? She isn't picking up her phone, Amelia said she hasn't seen her and neither has Ahmed. I'm freaking out!" Amran sighed as she took a deep breath. Where could she be? "No, I haven't but calm down sis, we'll find her In Shaa Allah. Where do you think she could be?" I asked as soon as I got inside my car and started the engine. Amara has to be alright... It's probably nothing big. Right?
