boom boom boom

I heard the pounding coming from my front door, waking me up. I got up off the couch yelling "I got it!" even though I was the only one home. Sleepily rubbing my eyes, I opened the door.

Before me stood someone I haven't seen in which felt like years, but was only months. "Michael!" I screamed, jumping into his arms.

"I can't believe you're home!" I cried, pulling away as he chuckled.

"I know, it's been forever! I'm so happy to be home." He smiled, letting himself in. I watched as he walked into the kitchen, soon turning my head to see someone I missed dearly walking up my driveway, even though he was here a couple months before.

He looked up, smiling. Without saying a word, I ran outside, jumping into his arms. He spun me around and I hung on tight. "I missed you so much, Calum."

"I missed you more, Kenzie."

"What the hell, I didn't get a hug like that." Michael scoffed from the doorway. I let go of Calum, turning to Mikey.

"I'm sorry. Do you want a hug like that?" I asked, giggling. He shook his head and walked back inside.

"Well hello there." I heard a voice from behind me. Turning around I faced the curly-haired, smiley boy. "Hello there Ashton!"

Embracing him in a hug, I didn't realize how much I missed him until he let go. "How've you been?" He asked.

"I've been alright." I shrugged. Calum put his hand on my lower back, knowing that it's been tougher than I led on.

I looked down at my feet, trying to avoid eye contact because it became a little awkward. I heard another pair of footsteps come in front of me. Without looking up, I assumed it was Michael coming back outside. I was wrong.

"Um, hi." I heard his deep voice say. Looking up, my eyes met with his icy blue ones. He scratched the back of his neck, knowing how weird this must be.

"Hi, Luke." I awkwardly smiled. I gestured for them to follow me and we all walked inside my house to meet up with Michael, who was in the kitchen.

"So how was it?" I asked, excited for the answer. We were all seated around the table and it was just like old times, well sort of.

"It's such a rush." Ashton smiled. His eyes lit up with excitement, he loved performing so much.

"It really is," Calum agreed. "When we're up there it almost feels, natural? Like we're supposed to be doing this."

"Well you guys should be! You're amazing!" I stated, knowing just how talented they are.

Hearing a knock at the door, I got up to answer it. "I'll get it."

Turning the knob, Dylan stood in front of me when I opened the door. "Oh hey!"

"Hi there, beautiful." He leaned in and kissed me. The kiss lasted a little longer than usual, but I wasn't complaining.

"Welcome." I said as I took his hand and led him into the kitchen with the rest of the boys.

"What are they doing here?" Dylan whispered into my ear, not exactly being comfortable with them yet. All eyes were on him, only Calum knowing everything.

"Dylan?" Michael called. "Good to see you mate." He smiled, but I could tell it was forced.

"Good to see you, too." Dylan replied.

"Hey, I'm Ashton. I don't think we've met before?" Ash got up from his chair, extending his hand towards Dylan.

"Oh that's right." I remembered, knowing Ashton had never had classes with him. "Ashton, this is Dylan. My boyfriend."
