For the time being, things were peaceful. The sound of horses galloping against the ground seemed to be the only thing that kept you composed, along with everyone around you. Krista, Jean, Reiner, and Armin, they were all there, and thank god that they were safe. When you all started riding, you mentally thanked the heavens that you got out of that situation alive.

Because what would have happened if you died? If you were gone, killed by the hands of a titan?

What would Levi do?

Levi... You hadn't thought about him at all since the expedition begun, which to you was a surprise. It wasn't only until now until he crossed your mind, wondering about him and he was doing. Knowing him and his skills, he was probably alright. If he did had to deal with a titan or two, he would of came out victorious, maybe even with a few scars to prove it, only if the titan was smart enough to even touch him.

Did you ever cross his mind? Or was he too professional to do so? Maybe he was so good at his job that there really was no time for romantic thoughts and ideas to occur on the battlefield. You wanted to stop thinking about him, because then you'd miss him even more than you were right now. It was then that you promised yourself that you'd definitely see Levi after this, you would be okay after this. If it meant getting injured to remain alive just to see Levi again, then it was worth it. Getting emotional over something like this would be odd, so you fought your hormones this time, wondering why in the first place they were acting up.

Loud, piercing shots awakened you from your thoughts, and you gazed up. There on the sky, strings of green decorated the blue that accentuated it.

"Green smoke?" Jean tilts his head, almost sound confused.

"Looks like we're not heading back after all," Armin says, calmly, the opposite of Jean's tone of voice.

"We're changing course then," you pipe in and you saw as Krista looked back.

When she turned back to look at her, you notice the way her brows furrowed and the way her eyes looked for answers, "Yeah but..that doesn't make sense."

"What the hell," Jean sneers, "Is commander Erwin out of his mind?"

"Everyone has the authority to declare the mission failed, why isn't anyone speaking up?" Reiner sounded just as confused as Jean, but his voice dripped of slight aggravation. From the corner of your visions, it wasn't at all clear to see, but Reiner's expression seemed a little disconcerting. Unlike the way Krista's brows almost met together, Reiner looked more intimidating, perhaps it was his jawline.

You thought a bit and when you spoke, it came out sounding like a question, which wasn't at all intended. "The Command Squad too far ahead to see their signals?"

Of course, Armin with the intelligence had to answer, "Possibly, but either way I think our course is clear. As soon the command's got this." He glances over his shoulder, shoots his flare gun with the same green smoke and proceeds to look forward once more.
