All That We Wanted~ REINER X READER

Argument

Tears streamed down your flushed cheeks as you stormed away from the hulking blonde who made no move to stop you. You were so upset, too upset to even walk straight, your feet seeming to get in the way of each other. As soon as you were out of sight behind the stables, you sunk to your knees in a fit of sobs. Reiner's words echoed in your mind

"I think we should take a break, (Y/N), we're moving too fast..."

You slammed your fist into the side of the stable, your skin splitting on impact. You didn't usually get this angry, but this was a candle bent back to it's extent. The pain in your hand didn't even compare to the raging pain in your heart. You curled yourself into a tiny ball and sobbed, clutching your hand to your chest.

"Cadet (L/N)," you heard the familiar voice of Corporal Levi say from above you.

You slowly rose your eyes to look at him, tears staining your cheeks. His deadpanned expression stayed glued to his face as he knelt to look you in the eyes, resting on his haunches.

"Why are you crying," he asked monotonously.

You explained your whole ordeal with Reiner between sobs and hiccups until you were finished, clutching your stinging hand against your chest. After a few seconds of silence, Levi stood.

"Come with me, Cadet," he said as he grabbed your uninjured hand and pulled you to your feet, dragging you toward the infirmary.

You didn't resist, you knew it would be futile. Once inside the infirmary, to your surprise, Levi grabbed your waist and lifted you onto a table. You squeaked in surprise, your cheek reddening. The raven haired man made his signature tch noise as he walked to the cabinets and pulled out some gauze.

"(Y/N)," Levi began as he began to wrap your hand, "In this day and age, it's useless to cry over something so miniscule with death right around the corner."

You were taken aback by the Corporal's sharp words. Hadn't he ever been in love? Hadn't he ever had feelings for anyone? You stared down at your combat boots as he continued to wrap your hand, the gauze stinging slightly.

~Later~

You sat atop your bunk, twiddling your thumbs. Everyone was at dinner, you could hear the faint chatter and laughter. You didn't feel up to being around people and being sociable. All you wanted to do at this point was just lay in your bunk until sleep dragged you down. Your heart hurt like hell, but you beared it, holding back your tears until the pressure behind your eyelids was too much. Suddenly, there was a commotion outside.

"How could you," you heard Jean yell, "You know how fragile she is!"

"I didn't mean to hurt her, I did it so I wouldn't hurt her," came Reiner's voice.

You slunk down from your bunk and sat under the window, listening closely.

"This is about Krista isn't it, you dumped (Y/N) for Krista, didn't you," Jean accused harshly, making the tears jump from your eyes.

There was a long silence, then Jean's near guttural growl, then bodies hittinig the ground with thuds. You sprang up to see Jean and Reiner rolling around on the ground, fighting for dominance. You sprang to action, sprinting outside to the scene. You pushed past a bewildered Sasha and a dumbfounded Eren and with all your might, pried Jean away from the blonde man. It took all your strength to keep him held back.

"Stop it, both of you," you yelled, shocking everyone around into stilled silence.

Without further to say, you stormed off, hot tears streaming down your cheeks...
