Sitting in the taxi on the way to the restaurant was pure and utter torture. I may only be slightly exaggerating here, but people tend to get on my nerves. My hand was placed gently in Vic’s and Leda and Tori who were also in the cab with us, noticed; making a point to let us know just that. I wanted to yell at them, saying yes I did realize who was holding my hand and no I didn’t care and they did not need to point it out. Vic was quick to catch on to my annoyance and whispered over in my ear that we’d get a cab by ourselves on the way back. I nodded silently thanking him. I had half the mind to regret being his date for the evening. It’s not like I made fun of Tori when she and Tony were having their moments! …okay maybe I did, but it was after the fact and it was totally different!

As soon as the cab stopped, I stormed out of it. If they were going to get on my nerves, they could pay for it goddammit.

“Are you alright?” Vic asked as I watched Tori fumble through her purse looking for the money for the cab driver.

“I don’t know. I’m just annoyed. I love them, but hello it’s obvious you and I have something going on. They don’t need to point it out every 5 minutes. I swear, they act like they’re 3.”

He looked at me apologetically, “I’d say just ignore them, but they’re your best friends so that’s kinda out of the question, huh?”

I nodded. No matter how much they annoyed me, I stilled loved them to death.

“Don’t worry,” he said, “after dinner, you won’t have to worry about them for the rest of the night.” He smiled, hinting towards something I still couldn’t place my finger on. What had he even planned? We had a Warped date the next day as well! I was frustrated. I wanted to curl back up in bed. I hated social outings.

“Watch them follow us,” I joked.

He laughed, “I hope not! It would ruin all my plans!”

Oh my god, I wished he would just tell me what the hell he had planned. I asked him for the umpteenth time, but he just shushed me saying it was a surprise. I rolled my eyes.

“Fine,” I groaned, walking into the restaurant with Vic. Tori and Leda were trailing behind us, and as I looked around I noticed several familiar faces, including Jamie, Mike, and Tony‘s,  all gathered around a large table. Even Kellin and the rest of the Sleeping With Sirens boys were there. I recognized several other faces there as well. Band members that I had looked up to for several years, but I had only really talked to on tour in passing. Even though I was used to being around Vic and the others, I was still really weird about talking to anyone else. I just stuck with our little group and didn’t really venture out of it unless I had to.

“We’re with the reservation under Pierce the Veil?” Vic told the waitress. She nodded, taking out four more menus and walking us over to the table where the others sat. She asked use what we wanted to drink as well, which I just said water. That was all I ever drank anymore. She took the drink orders from Vic, Tori, and Leda as we sat down, joining around the table.

“What took you guys so long?” Mike asked, “We all left around the same time, but you’re now just getting here!”

“Traffic was horrible,” Tori explained. It was, and she and Leda pestering me wasn’t making the drive go by any faster.

I was sat down next to Vic at the end of the table. I was looking around, trying to recognize everyone there. Most everyone looked familiar, other than the girl who was sitting right across from me and a handful of other people.

“You must be Skye!” said the girl sitting across from me. How in the hell did she recognize me? Sure the guys would take photos with me and occasionally post them on Instagram or whatever, but to notice me right off the bat? I was confused.
