Chapter Thirty-One

"We're going back to this?" Xander sounded annoyed. Tina looked up to him before pushing up the frames of her glasses which had slid down to the middle of her nose.

"Back to what?"

"Back to my maid asking Nick to t-"

"SHE ASKED HIM FIRST?!" Tina looked to me in shock and I shook my head with a sigh, holding up my hand to stop her from freaking out, "Damn I thought my girl was turning into a little freaky slu-"

"Tina!" I shushed her and she immediately closed her mouth, "Earlier I just told Xander that since he rejected my offer I might as well ask Nick." I hesitated before whipping around to Xander, "And excuse you, don't just call me your maid, I have a name."

"You are my maid though." His lips were in a thin line and I noted he still seemed annoyed about the comment both Tina and I said earlier.
"Where is Nick anywa-"

I paused when I recalled the incident that just happened earlier. I couldn't help but feel annoyed at Nick for not doing anything to help me but I couldn't fully blame him. I guess Mr. Firona was a scary person, it just took me by surprise that he bought a butler instead of a maid this time.

"Nick? I don't know he disappeared on me a-"

"Milania" Xander interrupted Tina and I was about to scold him for it before I saw his face. He was staring down at me with an expression I couldn't quite explain. Both Tina and I fell silent.

"Yes...?" My voice came out hushed.

"I'm your master," He maintained eye-contact with me the whole time, "You're mine, you understand that? You do what I say. You behave yourself."

"Bu-"

"No but's" His eyes were dark and my lips shut. Come on, fight back like you always do. But something kept my mouth shut and slowly turned back to Tina who was watching us like we were putting on a show.

When she noticed me turn back to her she raised her eyebrows with a small smile. I widened my eyes, indicating for her to help me but instead she just shrugged and kept her mouth shout.

"Tina, help." I mouthed but she averted her eyes. Seriously?

"Milania" My body tensed when he spoke. Xander sounded so different when he was like this. I turned back to him quietly, not making eye contact with him fully.

"Do you understand?" He repeated and I didn't say anything. I slowly nodded my head and when I glanced up I could see his eyes narrowed, "What?" I finally asked but my voice was quieter than I expected it.

"I thought you'd fight back more" His face seemed to soften when he said that and I tried to avoid all eye contact but I couldn't help as I kept glancing back up to him.

"I'll give you two some alone time" Tina spun around on her heel, quickly making her exit. I turned to call her back but Xander grabbed my wrist, indicating me not to, so I behaved myself as he told me too.

"I'm sorry" He frowned, "I didn't mean to scare you" His hands went to my face, tilting it lightly so I was looking at him, "I feel like it's my duty to keep you safe since I'm your master and I haven't done a very good job."

I opened my mouth to speak but he cut me off, "So I may have become a bit strict but it's jus-"

"Milan" I glanced up at the sound of his voice, my eyes widening. He shouldn't be here, it wasn't safe for him to be around Xander right now.. no.. more like ever.

I could feel Xander's body freeze up at the sound of his voice. He dropped his hands from my face and fear washed over me as I expected him to start a fight.

"Please don't" I whispered to him before my eyes went to Nick, "Nick" Was the only word I could say... what else was there to say. I was about to ask if he was okay but he wasn't the one that almost got raped. I was. I was the person he didn't help.

Stop it's not Nicks fault. Don't hold a grudge against him for some dumb reason that doesn't even matter.

"I'm sorry" I bit the inside of my cheek when he said that. I went to walk over to him but Xander's arm which immediately wrapped around my waist prevented me from doing so.

I turned back to look up at him, giving him a pleading look, "Can we not act like a possessive Alpha wolf right now?" He watched me for a moment before his grip become looser until he finally dropped his arm from around me.

Nick's eyes were watching his arm the whole time and it seemed to light up when he finally released me. I walked toward Nick but felt Xander follow me like a shadow. "Nick" I repeated myself, "Did you return to the closet?"

He shook his head, his face dropping from the happy expression a second ago, "No" He said quietly, "I'm so sorry... I froze up. I panicked. He's a really violent and dangerous person, I had no clue what to do"

"Yes he is violent... all the more reason you should have defended her" Xander's voice was low and I nudged him lightly with my elbow. It was better not to start anything right now.

"Xander, please behave"

"I'm the master here" He argued and I rolled my eyes. He was so difficult sometimes. Nick seemed to be awkward during this argument and I could see another emotion flicker across his eyes.

"I really care for you Milania" Nick smiled, "You're beautiful... and smart and I knew you could handle yourself. I should have stepped in though and I'm so sorry but I really like you. Please... if you give me another chance"

"Milania is straight... she doesn't like pussy.... and you are a pussy" My eyes widened at Xanders words. I almost wanted to laugh at what he said it was so stupid but I knew this was serious.

"Xan-"

"You know I'm right"

"Xan-"

"I'll change" Nick interrupted our conversation, "I'll change for you Milania" I shot him a confused look, "What?"

"I'm going to change. I'll be who you want me to be."

"Uhm no.... Nick Im serious it's fine. I forgive you, just be yourself it's better that way."

"I know you forgive me but I don't want that. I want you to like me in the way you like Xander... I want to be your special someone and if I have to change.. I'll do that for you."

"I don't like Xander in that way! Please Nick, none of this is needed." I didn't know what to say. I felt extremely awkward in this position right now.

"That's a lie, she loves me" I rolled my eyes at Xander. Could he ever be serious, "Don't even try change, there's only one of me"

I let out a sigh, "He's right, don't change. You're great the way you are" I shot him a small smile but he just shook his head. Why was he acting like this? it was unusual.

"No. I'm going to change for you... And you" He pointed to Xander, " Just you wait. Next time we meet... well after this party I'll be a new person. A better person than you can ever be!"

"You're weird" Was all Xander replied with which literally made me want to face-palm. Did he have to be so mean to Nick?

"I can't wait till I see you again Milania" Nick gave me a smile.

"Which will probably be in a few minutes since we are at the same place" Of course Xander would say that.

"No, I'm leaving now"

"Don't forget to bring that bag of shít with you" Xander shrugged and when Nick gave him a confused look he nodded toward the way we were earlier, "Your owner.. the one you're terrified of"

Nick gave Xander a dirty look before storming off, heading the opposite direction of Mr. Firona and going down the stairs, which I'm guessing he was leaving. I couldn't help but frown at this.

"Do you need to be so mean?" I turned back to Xander who just gave me a small smile, "I saw you wanting to laugh at what I said earlier to him. Don't play innocent."

A small smile spread on my lips and I shook my head. "Whatever you say, c'mon I need a drink."
