Chapter Seventy-Five

Elijah and I had both spoken to Niklaus. He was going to take Hayley to the bayou, where she would talk to the wolves that were now free from Francesca's clutches. I secretly hoped that she would kill Oliver while she was there, but I didn't speak my mind.

While those two went to the bayou, Elijah wanted Davina to find the stake for him. I had tried to do so as well, but it was as if my powers were now in void from finding any dark objects. I hadn't figured out that that was the problem until I tested it on the needle that had almost killed Hayley's daughter. I couldn't find that one either, and yet, it was in Kieran's studio apartment, which was less than a mile away from me.

Something was wrong with me. I just didn't know what.

I was still trying to find that damned stake, when my phone began to ring in my pocket. I yanked it out and saw that it was Davina. I answered it quickly. "Hey D," I said.

"Rose! Come to Rousseau's!" she said, and I heard growling in the background.

It was the wolves.

"I'm coming," I told her.

It seemed that I was too late, because by the time I had gotten there, something else had happened.

A man was standing over Elijah, who had his back pressed against the counter. He also had the white oak stake, and it was going straight into Elijah's heart. Whoever this man was, he was extremely strong. Strong enough to subdue an original vampire.

I sped towards them and grabbed the man's neck, pulling him and yanking him back against one of the pillars in the room. He growled in frustration, and as I stood in front of Elijah in a protective stance, I realized who it was.

"Mikael..." I whispered.

He only let out a growl in reply as he stalked towards me, the stake still in his hand. Then, he suddenly turned to his right and saw Davina. He ran at her, the stake raised, but she held out a bracelet. It only took me a moment to realize exactly what had happened. She was controlling him. She had brought him back to life, and used the bracelet as an object to make sure he doesn't do anything without her consent.

"Stop," she said coldly. Mikael froze where he was, and he clenched his teeth. "Go back now," Davina ordered. He reluctantly turned around and fled.

Davina turned back to Marcel, who had been standing behind her. She shook her head at him angrily, then stormed out of Rousseau's.

I quickly turned back to Elijah, and inspected the wound that had been left behind. "Are you alright?"I asked worriedly as I put a hand on his shoulder.

He nodded to me, and stood up straight. Then he turned to his left.

"Something to say?" He asked.

"Not me mate," the boy replied. "Not a bloody thing."

I sighed when I looked over and saw a boy that Davina appeared to have been with. He had his head peaking up above the counter, his eyes wide, then got up when he saw that Mikael and Davina were both gone.
