Rose's POV
I watch as the three boys walk into the woods and almost disappear, but not before Marcus looks back at me with a saddened look on his face "be safe" I tell him, holding the door tight as I stare at him

"You to" he says and they all run away, out of sight, faster than a blink of an eye

I turn around to see Jade, Amber and Harry, they all look sympathetically at me but I ignore there states and walk past them into the kitchen getting something to eat. After a minute they follow me in there as I munch on some food "are you ok?" Jade asks

I slump down in my seat and close my eyes tightly thankfully facing away from her "yeah I'll be ok" I tell them slowly turning around

"Do you need anything?" Harry asks as they come sit around me

I shake my head and Amber rubs my back, staring at me with warm but sad brown eyes. I don't even know what to think, the adrenaline has worn off and Marcus is gone. The somewhat safe feeling I had when he was here has disappeared just like he has. He needs to feed, if something happens when he's hungry and weak it won't be good.

I wish he could leave with me tomorrow but his vampires need his guidance more than I do right now. I'm sure he'll tell them the plan and get on the road before he's supposed to...and honestly I hope he does.

I feel a warm tear slip down my face that I hadn't noticed had fallen, I'm scared. I want to have trust in Marcus and everyone around me to keep me and everyone I love safe but the constant thought of my father being back haunts me. That man has scared me mentally and physically, he frightens me down to my core. The thought of him makes my heart lurch in my chest and my stomach feel sick. Every time he has hurt me it has stayed in my mind and now that he's back the pain is so fresh I can almost feel it.

To add on to the worst, he's a vampire now, he's stronger, faster, and more clever than ever. I have faith in Marcus but my fear is trying to consume me.

"I think I'll go call my mom" I say, thinking out loud

I stand slowly and brush by them, they all watch as I walk into the living room. I step over to the couch and sit down suddenly feeling very alone, I take out my phone and find my mothers contact.

The loud ringing begins and I wait to hear her voice on the other end "hello?"

"Hey mom" I say smiling and letting out a sigh of relief

"Hi Rose, everything ok?" She asks "besides..." she trails off and I frown

"Yes I'm fine, how are you? did you get to aunt Vicky's alright?" I ask falling back on the couch and staring up at the white ceiling.

"Yes just got off the plane, she's driving me to her house" she tells me "we're about to pull up any second"

"Hey Rose!" I hear my aunt yell making me smile "you better come see me soon missy!" She tells

"Mom tell her I will and that she better make me some of her homemade cookies when I come" I tell her causing my mom to laugh as she relays the message

"She will" she says laughing quietly

A moment of silence passes between us and my smile slowly dwindles down to a frown "does she know?" I ask
