I don't want to,
Won't let myself,
I have to realize.
This might be,
This could be,
This is goodbye.Goodbye- Kesha

Prologue
The room was empty. What was once a full, bright and comfortable childhood sanctuary was now just a barren space.
Emma stared at the walls, as the tears streamed down her face. Curled into a tight little ball in the corner, she could hardly take her next breath.
"It will be okay. Remember what I told you,"
Adam's voice seemed to echo all around her. Turning her head to look at him, she managed a small, tight smile at the boy sitting beside her, cross legged with his hand on her knee.
"How can this be okay? I don't want to go,"
She took a shuddering breath and looked away. If she closed her eyes she could picture all the posters she had on the walls, the photograph collage pinned around her dresser mirror, and her white double bed in the middle of the room with a hundred pillows, cushions and stuffed toys on top. The way things use to be.
This had been all she had ever known. Born and raised here in Bainbridge, Ohio, moving to New York City was going to be so hard.
"I'll come look for you, Emmy. I promise you, as soon as I finish school, I'm coming to get you. We'll come back here, and get married and no-one will be able to stop us,"
Adam's words helped Emma relax. That was the plan. That is what was keeping Emma going. Knowing that Adam would never forget her, was not going to leave her behind, made this relocation only just bearable.
She reached over to him, and met him halfway.
Their lips met in a fervent, emotional kiss. Emma’s heart began to race, as their tongues met, caressed over each others, searching and longing. This would be the last kiss for a while to come.
It went on for what felt like a lifetime.
Emma’s salty tears could be tasted, as mad teenage desire took off and ran wild. Tongues clashed in anguish and longing. Their breathing became ragged, neither of them willing to part.
The quick rasp on the door startled both of them. They quickly broke off and let go of one another, panting and guilty.
“Honey, time to go.” Emma’s mom said softly from the other side.
“Okay,” Emma called out. Her heart was beating so fast it felt tight in her chest.
If her mom knew Adam was here she would kill her.
They both stood up and took a few seconds to regain their composure.
Emma looked up at him and saw that he was just as affected by the kiss as she was.
"I love you," He said, softly, reaching out and stroking her cheek.
She caught his hand and leaned into it. "I love you too,"
"You just wait for me, you hear? Don't go falling in love, or running off somewhere else. You stay where I can find you," His voice was demanding.
Emma looked into those big blue eyes, and tucked away the loose strands of his brown hair that had fallen in front of his face.
"I won't. I promise. The same goes for you. You don't leave me out there, you come for me," Emma said.
He smiled his wicked smile that made her weak at the knees, before he walked over to the window. He threw his leg over the window ledge and pulled himself up.
"Everything will be different when we are back together again. I'll be different, too. I promise, it will be so much better,"
Emma gave him one more kiss, and then, he was gone.
The knock on her door sounded again.
"Emma, what's going on? Are you ready to go? Your father is waiting,"
Ha, let him wait. He was ruining her life as it was.
When the plane took off it was a clear, gorgeous morning. Headed for New York City, Emma sat beside Ella her younger sister.
She was younger only by a year, but Emma always knew she was much more mature than her fifteen years.
“It will be alright, Emma. We just have to believe it.”
Emma turned and looked out of the window, watching the small town of Bainbridge Ohio slip away.
At sixteen, Emma was uncertain as to whether or not she would even make new friends, let alone adapt to a whole new city. Coming from such a small town, this was going to be a culture shock like no other. She knew it, Ellie knew it and so did her parents. But a lucrative deal for her father to become a partner in his best friend's very successful law firm in Manhattan had sealed their fate months ago.
She shrugged her shoulders, continuing to stare outside. “It’s all we can do.Just believe it,”
