38. Proposals - Pietro

You were mulling about in the lounge of the Avengers tower waiting for Pietro, and finally flopped down on the couch when your phone buzzed indicating that you had a text message. You grudgingly reached for it, but found yourself smiling when you saw that it was Pietro who had texted you. You opened the message and it was a single emoji, a microscope. Immediately rolling yourself off the couch, you headed down a few levels to the lab you and Pietro hung out in. When you reached the lab you opened the door expecting to find your speedster on the other side, but he wasn't there. Instead there was a note on the table with you name on it. You opened it and began to read it, noting the number 1 was written on the bottom corner of it.

Princessa, I have something very important I need you to do for me. To begin please go to the place where we first kissed, and make sure to take the puzzle piece with you.

You looked into the envelope the note was in and found a brown puzzle piece in it. After grabbing the puzzle piece you tried to think about where you first kissed Pietro and remembered that it was in the training room downstairs. You headed down there, and found Natasha and Clint working out in there. Nat smirked at you when you entered and gestured over her shoulder to a table in the corner, where you found another note. Again you opened it and read it, noticing the number 2 in the bottom corner.

Yay! You found the second note, now I need you to go to the place where we first fought. I know it is not the greatest memory, but we made it through and have made many better memories since. Don't forget the puzzle piece.

You grabbed the second puzzle piece sticking it in your sweatshirt pocket with the first piece.  Then you headed up to the office where you an Pietro had spent an hour fighting over some random guy at a Stark party that flirted with you.  When you reached the office it was empty, except for the desk that was always there, and on top of it was another note for you.  This time you grabbed the puzzle piece first figuring that these were probably in all the letters and going to be important at some point.

You are doing well Princessa,but there are still more notes to find and more puzzle pieces to gather before you are done. The next one can be found in the place where Tony caught you and I "Getting it on."

You giggled and blushed at the incredibly awkward memory. It happened so long ago, but you could still clearly picture Tony's face when he walk into the tower's kitchen to find you and Pietro making out, with you seated on the island, both of your shirts tossed haphazardly somewhere in the room. You headed in the direction of the kitchen, thinking about how many memories that you had with Pietro in this tower. When you made it to the kitchen Wanda was sitting at the island that you and Pietro had been caught on, she was using it for it's intended purpose though. She didn't even look up from the sandwich she was making, just slid an envelope in your direction without acknowledgement. Though, you did think that she might have smiled to herself for a moment, but then she hid her face with her hair. Hesitantly you grabbed the fourth note and opened it. After reading it and grabbing the puzzle piece that went with it you continued you journey around the tower as Pietro guided you down memory lane. He took you through many memories, including the first time he saw you cry, the time you two spent four hours hiding from the other avengers after a prank gone wrong, you favorite Stark party memory, and even the best post mission memory you had. By the time you found the final note you had about twenty puzzle pieces in you pocket and you were almost ready to cry happy tears at the all the amazing memories you were being walked through. When you found the final note it read:

You are  almost done Princessa, this is the last note I promise. I want you to take this final puzzle piece and head back to somewhere you've already been today. I want you to go back to our favorite place in the tower.

You smiled at this and realized you were headed back to where you started, back to the abandoned lab. You made your way there , silently hoping that when you got there you would find Pietro waiting for you. You also hoped that he was going to explain the puzzle pieces you had in your pocket. When you got to the lab though, Pietro still wasn't there. Instead the lab was filled with lit candles, there had to be at least a hundred of them. Lining the walls, on the tables and work benches, they were everywhere. In the center of the room on the same table as before there was a wooden frame that matched the puzzle pieces. You took them out of your pocket and began to assemble the puzzle. It didn't take that long, because there were only twenty pieces, and you figured out what it was going to say before you finished it. This didn't stop you from crying out of happiness when the message was complete in front of you. The puzzle before you read:

Will You Marry Me, Princessa?

As the happy tears began to fall you heard someone rush into the room behind you. You turned to find Pietro on one knee in front of you, and engagement ring held out for you. You nodded quickly at him.

"Yes!" You practically shouted and Pietro smiled at you. He put the ring on your finger and kissed you quickly before wrapping his arms around you in a tight hug. He picked you up and spun you around before rushing out of the room with you. A moment later you found yourself in the lounge surrounded by celebrating avengers and your soon-to-be sister-in-law.
