Waking up to the warm feeling of sunlight hitting my face I slowly opened my eyes. I moved a bit under the covers, but then I felt something warm... someone's body. My eyes widened and memories of last night flashed thru my head, quickly making me turn crimson as I realized that I was naked and so was the person next to me. Turning around to face Fred's peaceful expression while he was still asleep, I couldn't help but smile at the thought of how amazing last night was.
It seemed like everything was going great in my life. William was a great boss and my work was decent, not that I didn't like it, but I wanted more. Fred and I had never been so happy and thanks to the previous night we made our relationship even more wonderful.
Pecking his cheek I got out of bed and went to prepare myself for work. When I finally returned to my room Fred was sitting at the edge of the bed rubbing his eyes with hand. The moment our eyes met a bright smile appeared on our faces.
"Morning, love." His morning voice sent shivers down my spine , causing me to bite my lip.
"Morning."
He got up and took few steps until he reached enough to embrace me. I felt so safe in his arms that even the danger we were now living in didn't scare me.
As usual he escorted me to the Ministry of Magic before he went to work as well. I cherished all these little things he did for me. I couldn't imagine a day without him in my life.
"Good luck, Daniels." He quickly pecked my lips and took his way to Weasleys' Wizards Wheezes.
It was a rather odd start of my working day. I was about to open William's office door when I hear silent soft moans come from the inside. I felt my cheeks turn red from the noises and with an embarrassed look on my face I sat on my desk and tried to focus on today's work. Sadly, there was nothing to work at in the early hours of the day, so I had to reread some of the things from yesterday just to keep my mind busy.
Finally the door opened and knocks of high heels on the floor made me look up. My eyes widened a bit from shock as I saw that it was Fiona. Well... I guess Emily got what she wanted.
"Hel- What are you doing here?" Seems like she didn't expect to see me here.
"Excuse me?" I was taken aback by the way she spoke.
"Ms. Daniels, can you come in my office please?" William's voice came from behind the closed door, which cracked Fiona a nerve.
"Don't you dare get near him, mudblood." She hissed with unhidden hate at me.
"And I thought you were from a royal class... sadly, when you open your mouth you break that illusion..." I spoke in calm and bold manner, showing her I wasn't offended by her words. I could be grateful about that to Fred... he made me a stronger person, who now was able to stand their ground.
She pushed few papers off my desk and quickly stormed away. I couldn't help, but feel sorry for William... his mother wasn't enough so now there was Fiona as well. I was thinking if actually she erased his memories of me while I was gathering the papers, but quickly pushed the thoughts away. Whoever did it didn't matter, what was done was done.
"Ms. Daniels." William called out and I quickly left the papers at my desk and walked inside his office. "There you are, what took you so long?" He calmly asked with a teasing tone.
My gaze pinned to the floor, as I saw his shirt was unbuttoned widely. I won't deny it, he did look attractive... not that he wasn't, but now it was even more.
"I-I am sorry, I dropped some papers on the ground and was busy picking them up..." I didn't dare to look at him. His memories might be erased, but mine were fresh as morning breeze on a spring day.
"Is something bothering you, Paige?" He asked with concern in his voice and the sweet way he said my name made me smile.
"No..." I lied running fingers thru my hair and finally gathering the strength to look at him.
"Are you sure?" He took few steps towards me and reached out his hand placing it on my forehead. "You look like you have a fever."
I didn't have anything to reply, or at least didn't dare to say it out loud, so I ended up buttoning up his shirt. When though it was enough for a formal look I moved my gaze up and met his own. My hands were still on his chest and I could feel the beating of his heart.
"Right..." He whispered with a chuckle. "I am sorry." He was about to place his hands on mine, but I quickly pulled them away and took a step back.
"It's alright... it was just me, so I guess it wasn't so much of a big problem."
"Is that so." The flirtatious note in his voice was loud and clear, despite the low manner he spoke with.
"I-I mean I won't make a fuss out of it." I felt like a duckling in the mud. No matter what I was saying it sounded wrong.
He chuckled sweetly which caused me to look back at him with a puzzled look on my face.
"You know, Ms. Daniels, you surprise me with something new every single day."
"How come?"
"Well I never expected you to be struggling with words in front of a man." He noticed that I got a bit offended by his comment and quickly added. "Of course, simply because I find you beautiful and smart beyond compare, which should make men around you struggle with words, not you." I blinked several times at his compliment.
"Thank you." I mumbled and felt like now was the right time to end the conversation. "Can you tell me what was the reason you called me in?"
"Owh... yes. I forgot..." And with that we started our usual working day.
Today my parents were returning back home from their vacation, which meant that it was the end of our living together with Fred. It was nice and all, but I somehow wanted that day to come. I liked having him by my side for the last week, but sometimes I just wished to be by myself. I guess Fred was thinking the same thing, since he didn't whine or hesitate for a moment when I told him when my parents were returning.
But that didn't mean that he couldn't escort me back home, in fact he was waiting for me in front of the building, holding a bag full of baked sweets for us to eat on our way.
"Hello, love. How was work?" He pecked my forehead as I reached him.
"Tiring, but now that I am with you it doesn't matter." I quickly stole a kiss from his lips. "Thank you for the sweets."
On our way home he told me how his working day went and the fun things that happened during that time. I couldn't help, but envy him a bit for having such a joyful work. Especially, since mine was the exact opposite.
"Well goodnight, Daniels. I will take you from here at eight tomorrow morning." He winked at me and leaned down to kiss me. With a swift move he took the last muffin from my hand and ran away.
"WEASLEY!" I shouted out, causing him to laugh while turning around to face me with arm raised up in the air holding the muffin victoriously.
"Dream of me, Daniels!"
"NEVER!" And with that he apparated away. The smile on my face made my cheeks hurt, but I didn't mind it... not at all.
