SPECIAL CHAPTER PART ONE

It was fate, and I knew it.

Dest

I pulled a book from the shelf and studied its cover, smelled its pages, wandered into the warmth of its first lines, getting ready to be swept away by the story. It's something I still feel in my teenage years. I'm still dazzled by possibilities when I walk into a bookstore.

Well, except for something scary or anything like that. I honestly hate violence, too.

She's holding one of my favorite books, Four Seconds to Lose. A smile escaped her lips while she's checking the back cover.

She's too lovely for a book lover, and I admired her for that.

Maybe I should go talk to her? But what would I say? She doesn't even know me. And I don't even know her.

I should give it a try.

I let out a deep sigh before approaching her.

"Charlie ended up having feelings for Cain," I said, finally claiming her attention.

She'll find it weird if a stranger suddenly approached her.

"Sorry, what?" tanong niya.

How was I supposed to keep the conversation going? I didn't even know why I was suddenly feeling nervous. What the hell was wrong with me?

"The book you're holding," I said calmly, trying to hide the fact that I was nervous around her. "I've read that already. Charlie ended up falling in love with Cain," dagdag ko pa.

What the?

Bahagya akong natawa at umiling-iling. "I'm not spoiling anything. It's actually written on the back cover."

I let out a small laugh. She's actually cute. Nah, scratch that. She's fucking beautiful.

"It's a great book. You should read it," I said, and flashed a smile before I walked away.

She resembled Gerald so much that I honestly thought she was his twin. And I thought meeting her in this bookstore wasn't a coincidence at all.

It was fate, and I knew it.
