Rosemary's POV

It's been 5 days. Justin and I haven't said a word to each other since the day I found out he went through my stuff.

He's barely home anyway, but neither am I.

I'm either at the park or café. Today I wanted to do something different, so I decided to go to the library for once.

The library was only a few blocks away so I walked instead of taking the car like I usually do.

When I got there I chose The Great Gatsby to read. Yeah I've read it like 7 times before, but it's just such an amazing book that I don't mind re-reading it.

I took the book and started walking to the back of the library on those big cushiony sofas but before I sit, I noticed a familiar face, Calum sitting there on one of the sofas.

I felt my heart start racing.

He looks so good.

Shit.

"Calum?" I said standing in front of him as he looked up.

"Rosemary..." He said standing up.

"Oh my gosh." I said putting down The Great Gatsby on the table and pulling Calum in for a tight hug.

I felt him hugging back.

I missed this feeling, the feeling of having him in my arms, the feeling of safety, As if nothing can happen to me when he was around.

We finally let go from the hug and sit on the sofa.

He turned to face me.

"You look great." I said with a smile.

"So do you." He smiled.

"Thank you." I chuckled.

"How've you been, how's life?" He asked.

"I've been alright, life's okay." I answered with a smile. "How about you?" I asked.

"Good, I got my 4 year college degree 2 years ago." He said.

"Oh, that's great." I said.

"What college did you go to?" He asked.

"I went to community college ... I dropped out after the first year." I said looking at the table.

"What, why? College was your dream." He said.

"It was too stressful I couldn't take so much work." I stated.

He nodded understandingly.

"Did you ever get to go to New York like you wanted to?" He asked.

"No, I'm still here, aren't I?" I chuckled.

"Right." He said smiling down at the table.

"How are your parents, they probably don't even remember me." I said.

"They're good, still living in Texas and I'm sure they do." He assured.

I smiled.

"I have a question." I stated.

"Another one?" He chuckled.

"Shut up" I said playfully. "Did you happen to be at the gym the other day?"

His face grew serious.

"Yeah, how'd you know?" He responded.

"You're sister came up to me." I said.

"What?! What'd she say to you?" He said sitting up.

"Well she got mad at me for not asking or saying anything about you." I said looking away to not feel awkward.

"Oh..." He said almost in a whisper.

"Yeah." I replied.

"Was that guy like your boyfriend?" He asked.

Shit.

"Yeah, Justin his name is Justin." I said.

There was a small 4 seconds of silence.

"What's he like?" He asked.

"Calum...." I said.

"No come on I wanna know." He said with a smile.

"Well, I met him after I dropped out of college, through a friend of mine at a party." I said.

He nodded signaling me to continue.

"We liked each other so we kind of just exchanged numbers and started hanging out more and he asked me out. We've been going out for four years." I said.

"Way longer than we dated" He said with a small smile.

I didn't say anything.

"So did he have all those tattoos when you met him?" He continued.

"He only had two." I stated.

"Cool." He said.

"Yep." I replied.

"So do you guys like live together?" He questioned.

"Yes." I answered.

"Oh."

"Well, we're kinda on the rocks." I admitted.

"Oh?" He said a little concerned.

"Yeah." I said, my eyes getting a little watery. I tried blinking it away.

Calum saw my face. He could always tell when something was wrong.

"Hey, let's get out of here. Let me buy you something to eat. How about Chinese? We can go back to my place and order take out. How does that sound?" He asked, wrapping his arm around me.

"Great. We can get it for free since you work there." I laughed.

He laughed too.

I missed that laugh.

"Hey Calum, I-" I heard a voice.

Julie.

"What the hell is she doing here?" She exclaimed.

"I-I was getting a book." I said, holding up the Great Gatsby.

She stepped to me.

"Calum, are you stupid? Letting her back into your life? Calum she broke your heart once and she'll do it again."

"Julie, we're just friends." Calum said, defending me.

She looked at me rolling her eyes.

"That's it." Calum said.

"Julie, she's my friend. I'm always gonna consider her that way. You Julie, you're my sister. You're always gonna be that. And I'm gonna need the both of you to be friends. Got it?" He said, more directed to Julie then me.

"Whatever Calum." Julie says annoyed.
