Crush on A Cop

*Part Two*

*Next day, Wednesday morning about 6 A.M.

I pull into Rummies, Lexus isn't here yet but will be soon. I go ahead and go in to start getting everything started. I still can't believe that last night Brogan FINALLY asked me out, Brandyn will have a fit but, oh well he'll have to get over it, he's not my boss, I think as I place the pans of biscuits in the oven. My cell phone rings, the screen flashing "Lexus", I answer "What's up chick?" she laughs. "Obviously you! Get out of the clouds and come let me in!" Hanging up the phone I go to let Lexus in and hit the open sign.

"I have the biscuits in the oven, two pots of coffee brewing, and fixing to start on the bacon and sausage. Won't be long till the regulars start rolling in and I have a feeling today's going to be busy."

Lexus giggles tying on her apron, "Not going to talk about it?"

I smile over at her, "Talk about what?"  "OH well, i don't know, maybe what happened last night after I left. I already know, but come on, this is something you've been waiting for." I swear Lexus is more excited then I am. "How do you know?" I drag it on a little longer, I can tell shes anxious.    "Cause, I swear that them boys gossip more then women do! Lucas called Marcus last night while we was eating and told him, said all of us have to figure out how to get this past your brother WITHOUT him finding out."

I sigh, "He's right you know? Brandyn will do whatever he has to to make sure I don't go out with Brogan." the bell above the door rings, Lexus smiles, "Don't worry love, we got this." "Thanks Lex!"

*About 7:30 A.M.*

It's been a very busy morning already, I've yet to leave the kitchen, I can always feel when we're going to have these days, and it still feels like somethings going to happen. "Hey, how about we switch places for the next hour? And do you think we can get Logan to come by and help this morning?" Lexus ask coming by the grill.

"I doubt it, she should have left already heading to her sisters house. She likes to get Carson out of the house so Brandyn can sleep. We got this anyway." I wink at her grabbing the two plates that need to go out. I glance out the window seeing two patrol cars roll in to the parking lot behind two other cars.

"Morning sis!" Brandyn says as he comes through the door heading to his place at the bar. I right down his usual order grabbing him a cup of coffee, seeing Dalton his childhood friend and  partner that rides with him in the patrol car with him, helping his wife Allyson get their three year old twins out of the car. Walking into the kitchen I tell Lexus "Marcus just pulled in, along with Lucas, Brandyn,and Dalton & his family."

"Oh boy this could be interesting!! Family as in Brogan is out there too?" She's grinning from ear to ear, I just shake my head, "You're lucky I love your crazy ass!" I say walking out the kitchen to go to Dalton's families table to take their order, where also Lucas has joined. Brogan and Dalton each have a twin trying to get the girls to stay still, must be nice being that full of energy at this time of day.  "Morning y'all." I smile greeting everyone. "Morning Devyn." A smiling Brogan says starting off with his order, then everyone else at the table gives me there order.  I make my way to the kitchen, taking coffee back out to give refills.

Everyone now has food and drinks and talking among themselves as I make my way toward the kitchen toting the plates that need to go to the back. Brandyn follows me to the back, "We need to talk Devyn."
