A\N Because of last of my update being so short I've decided to make this update a little longer. I hope y'all like it and I should have put this in the description, but this is my first book. So I hope that y'all are enjoying it and feel free to comment and let me know what y'all think so far.
After James's little solo neither of us say a word. However, we both grin like we're crazy. We look like two little kids that just got away with sneaking a treat before dinner. Maybe I should have played country music something tells me he's not the biggest Luke Bryan fan. I bet he wouldn't have known the words to kick the dust-up. I laugh mentality at how I think he would have reacted. Californians are not too fond of country music. My mental laugh becomes a real one and James laughs a little too.
So after our weird laugh and me thinking of something to say. I decided to ask if he is a fan of Luke Bryan. As soon as I speak our words crash into each other.
"So are you- How long have you"
"You first, "I say immediately.
"I was just gonna ask you how long you lived in L.A.? "
"Oh um, about four years."
"And where are you from again? I remember Chloe saying how you weren't from here."
"The south," I say simply.
"The south? What's the matter Mory doesn't want me knowing about you." He replies chuckling a little.
Yeah, James I actually don't want you knowing about me. I start to say that but instead tell him the truth "Louisiana".
"New Orleans girl eh ?"
"Yup born and raised" I can't help but smile at the mention of home. California has been good to me but nothing can compete with Louisiana.
"So you should be used to partying and getting wild"
"Well, I am from a city where Saturday's are for the sinners and Sunday's are for the saints."
James just side-eyes me and clears his throat. "So which are you? Tell me Morgan are you a sinner or a saint. Now his eyes are locked on me waiting for an answer as if he isn't driving.
"Hmph, Wouldn't you like to know."
I don't know who James is trying to seduce but he is gonna have to try a little harder than that. Not that much harder, but still eyes on the road not on me.
"So what were you saying earlier?" he asks remembering our little word collusion.
"Huh oh um nothing, So how far is this amazing club?
"Well look to your left"
And poof like Disney magic there it is, this huge club with a line of people wrapped around the building. I guess it wouldn't seem so magical if I was aware of my surroundings, damn I'm slipping.
"My brother and the girls are inside already," he says checking his phone.
"Huh"? Once again I'm lost in my thoughts.
"Ready?" He asks and before I can answer the valet is ready to take the car. James comes to my side and helps me out of the car. Before we go in he tells the valet to park it in for the night and to surprise him. Park it for the night? What does he mean by that? Of course, my noisy self has to ask.
"James what did you mean when you said park it for the night, how are we supposed to get home?"
"You'll see later."
"Well, what do you mean by that? "
"You know you ask a lot of questions."
"Maybe you don't ask enough" I mumble.
"Don't worry Mory I ask enough at work" he replies.
I hope James is as close as he says he is with the owner because we completely walk pass the long line of anxious clubbers. As we walk into the club the bouncer stops us and I prepare to hear the words "end of the line." Surprising the words never come. Instead, the bouncer daps James off. "So we got a full house tonight or what Kenny? "
"As the usual boss," Kenny says."Boss wait a minute that means-
"Kenny let me introduce you this my good friend Morgan" James interrupts.
"Um hi" I shyly say to the very large man. He replies with a simple hello and tells me to enjoy club Envy.
"So this is your club," I ask as we make our way in.
"Me and my brother's" he replies.
Walking into the club I see that it's worth the long-awaited line. This place looks like an adult theme park, it's huge. There are at least to fifty to a hundred people on the dance floor alone. Before I'm able to take it all in James grabs my hand and starts to lead me upstairs. The long staircase leads to the second floor. It's a little quieter up here but you still hear the music.
"I have to meet my brother in my office it's just on the third floor."
"There's another story in this place? "
James laughs as if to say of course there is. "Don't worry I'll give you a tour later. Your friends are right over there in the VIP section." I turn to see my girls in the rather large section. From the looks of it, they are already turning up.
I look back at James and he flashes me a smile "Don't worry I'll dance with you all night after I handle business."
"I understand business comes before play. I'm sure there's a lot of work that goes into this place, but I thought gangsters didn't dance" I reply poking fun at him.
He responds with a cocky smirk. Ha no, come back huh?
"Besides what makes you think I can dance?
He looks at me up and down " So you're from south?"
"Yup''
"New Orleans right?"
"That's right" I decide to play along with his sudden memory loss.
He licks his lips and looks at me "good because I heard good things come from the South.""Correction, dangerous things come from the South ."
"Maybe you should wear a warning sign then" he replies.
"Truly dangerous things don't give warning they simply attack ."
James and I are face to face just like the first time we met. Only this time I don't want to smack that damn grin off his handsome face. Something about him is very intriguing as if he is hiding something, but shit aren't we all. Tattooed, intense eyes and a sharp tongue. Maybe he's the one that should wear a warning sign. Before I give him the chance to try and kiss me. Because let's face it I know he is. I slowly lean in like I'm going to kiss him, but instead I whisper in his ear.
" laissez Les Bon temp rouler" let the good times roll.
And with that, I turn around and walk to the section where my girls have been apparently watching us the whole time.
