Broken Promises (Changkyun X Reader)

A/N: Yehey! I'm going to try completing a story for each member this week! As a Christmas Gift. Also, you can request a scenario you want or a K-pop group that you'd like for me to do. <3

Reader's POV

          You looked at your watch and saw that it's already 1 in the morning, still there's no sign of him arriving on your house. It's your anniversary and it's been 6 years since you two started dating, even before he became the I.M. that everyone loved; you were already together. He's already your own Changkyun. You looked at the clock and said out loud, "I'll wait 15 minutes more. If he didn't arrive within that time, I'll clean up and sleep."

        When you looked at the clock again, the grace period you gave yourself already passed by. You sighed and started cleaning up the table dinner you set up for him, as you were about to throw the first dish, you heard the door opened. You looked at the door and saw him looking at you with worried look while breathing heavily.

Maybe, he ran all the way here. You thought to yourself. Still, he promised. You argued inside.

You looked away and continued throwing the dish on your hand, putting the plate on the sink. You heard him closed the door as he starts explain apologetically,

"________, mianhe... the sched-"

You cut him off by saying, "Yeah, I know Changkyun. You have schedule, you need to be there. It's your work. Your dreams."

You gulped holding down the tears and went to the dinner table to clean it up, as you hold the second plate, he held your wrist and pleadingly said, "Please... ________... don't be mad anymore, I'm here already... We can eat and celebrate already..."

You stared at his dark brown eyes, while holding back the tears on your (color) eyes and said while gradually shouting, "You should've texted me, Changkyun. I was waiting whether you'll be here because you promised that you'll arrive on time!"

He looked down but still holding your wrist tightly this time and said, "I-I'm sorry... I didn't mean to ________... but you know that I love what I'm doing...Please... let's just be okay...since I'm already here..."

You carefully put the plate down while he's still holding on to you, afterwards you forcefully took your wrist from him and turned away from him saying, "I can't do this anymore..."

"W-wae? What do you mean?" he asked looking at your back worried.

"I'm done.. I'm tired... I'm tired of sharing with the world and your work with you.... Changkyun...Ani... I.M... Let's break up..." He was taken a back by what you said and couldn't say anything. You bit your lower lip and went inside your room, locking it. While he was left there just standing.

Changkyun's POV
" I can't do this anymore... I'm done... I'm tired of sharing with the world and your work with you... Changkyun... Ani... I.M... Let's break up..."  she said. I was  so shocked, I didn't know what to do. I was shocked by the fact that she broke up with me and the fact that she didn't even called me by my real name for the last time... I just stood there as she went to her room. I kept on thinking, what am I supposed to do in order not to lose her but I can't think of anything but the fact that I had to give up my dreams for her. It's supposed to be our 6 years anniversary. I'm supposed to propose to her but it all fell when I wasn't able to keep my promise to her...

My thoughts were interrupted when I heard Minhyuk hyung calling me, "Changkyunnie!!!" I was back into reality and realized that we were practicing our dance routine for our first ever major concert. We're currently singing 'Broken Heart'.

"W-wae Minhyuk hyung?" I asked.

"Wae?!! It's your part and you didn't sing. Changkyunnie it's the 5th time you fail to sing your part. Kwenchanna?" I smiled lighty to hyung and said, "I'm fine, hyung. Mianhe, can we start again?" I looked at the other hyungs who smiled and nod at me.

The song played again and I quietly waited for my part, reminiscing the time I've been with her and we could've been the happiest if the proposal happened but it didn't. I hope that night went well. I hope I can get back to time but I can't. I can hear that my part is near already. So, I quietly kept everything to myself and when Kihyun hyung was done on his last part, I rapped my heart out, hoping  she can hear everything, hoping I'm singing this song for her.

Reader's POV
      I went to Monsta X's venue for their first ever major concert without him knowing because I can't lose him. I regret following my emotions that time. I regret breaking up with him. I'm willing to share with the world and his dreams, just not to lose him. I want to apologize for what happened last night and for what I said.

I bit my lower lip as I continued walking to where they're practicing according to Wonho oppa, which is the main stage. "Changkyun... I hope you still want to be with me..." I said out loud.

     After a few minutes, I arrived at the door where the main stage is. I just stood there for almost 3 minutes when I decided to open the door and that's when I saw him. Rapping his part for a mellow dramatic song, giving his all to singing that part.

I just stared at him, about to cry, and said out loud, "This is the Changkyun that I fell in love with. The Changkyun who's passionate with his dreams."

I just continued watching while tears kept on streaming down my face, until he finished that rap solo, that's when he saw me. He smiled with tears in his eyes, mouthing the words. "Saranghae, _____"

Nado~ Changkyunniiiee. Hehe. Omoooooo, this is soooo sad and heartwarming~

Of course, we want someone who will understand Changkyun's dreams for him but you know reality is life can suck and it can eat someone's insecurities away. So, I think its more realistic this way.
