.

time: a fortnight

Frustration could not summarize how I felt at the moment. And it was all credited to Eros.

Even Leo constantly nudging my arm didn't interrupt my thoughts. Well, completely at least.

"Will you stop."

"What are you thinking so hard about?"  His eyes twinkled with curiosity, asking questions he didn't need the answers to.

"Not you. So leave me alone," I replied snippily, wanting to get trapped in my mind palace yet again.

"No," he replied, smiling with his dimples showing and everything. Cute, but not falling for it.

At least not today.

"You're a dumbass," I muttered, saying it loud enough for him to hear.

"What did I do to deserve you, Tessa Calvin?"

I ignored him after that, continuing to pretend to read the meaningless words in front of me.

After several moments of busy silence, I heard Leo's voice again. "Is it about Eros?"

Now surprise overwhelmed me, replacing the current frustration. My voice dropped to a whisper, "W-Wait- what? Who is Eros? I don't know an E-"

He gave me a look that shut me up. Damn, I really was a bad liar.

How did he- how does he know? What the fuck was going on.

A low laugh emitted from Leo, and a wink was sent my way. "No time, sorry."

And the bell rang, fueling to my scorching need to know how the fùck Leo knew who Eros was.

.

I'd formulated a plan. After pondering over it during the 50 minutes of Calculus, I had a plan that would either be executed flawlessly or fail and end up in my complete mortification.

I was hoping for the former.

Step One: Locate target (aka Leo).

Step Two: Drag target into janitor's closet as discreetly as possible.

Step Three: Use my best interrogation voice. (Bad cop, good cop? Ah, fuck it.)

Flawless plan, I know.

And now I was on the hunt, searching for Leo. I traveled as naturally as possible searching every empty hallway until I saw his familiar figure. By the way, his eyes swiveled towards me, I could tell he knew full well of my intentions.

Screw my plan now.

I walked up to him, full of way to many questions to ask in one moment. He seemed to know this too.

A mischievous smile played at his lips. "Needed something, Bambi?"

I ignored the nickname for the purpose of addressing the current situation.

"How do you know Eros? You better not be shitting me, Leo or so help me-"

"Right to the point, I see," the smile on his lips grew. "As much I love a feisty human, I'd prefer to still have my balls after this. So chill and I'll do the talking."

I kept quiet despite all the words on my tongue.

"I know Eros because I'm an angel too. Plus, Eros is kind of my best friend," he gauged my expression, which was just me in a state of shock, "I heard he was interested in being your guardian angel so I decided to check out why he's so interested in you. I got my answer."

I resisted rolling my eyes at him, and studied his expression. I could see the sincerity in it and I let myself believe him. Honestly, the main things I'd heard from Leo's mouth was 'he was interested in being your guardian angel.'  Why would Eros be interested in me? Let's face it- I was a mess that even a professional would probably refuse.

I was a pile of glass shards no one wanted to touch- and Eros had quite literally stuck his hands into the pile, getting fifty million cuts in the process.

But he did it anyway.

And then I couldn't decide if I was frustrated or just confused.
