Chapter 17

Winter's POV

    I closed my eyes and took a breath. Then another. And another. I felt my body shake and eventually I gained my sense of smell and his cologne was there meaning I was just lost in a flashback of a bad dream. My hearing started to come back and I felt someones hands move from my eyes and I looked up to a smiling Mr.Kormack holding an Alaskan Malamute puppy with blue eyes and it made my heart melt. 

    "Surprise!" Daddy called along with Olly and Mr.Kormack. The puppy growled and walked over to me. I heard Nova and Mykie dying over there and freaking out that he got me a dog. I almost started to cry because this is the dog I've wanted...this is Spoofy.

    "This is my part two, and my final sorry." Mr.Kormack said kissing my forehead and I was sitting there in shock about the dog still. He got me a dog. Like a living breathing animal. "This is a very special one though. You see," I was smiling and petting the cute fluffy thing. Mr.Kormack had sat down on the floor with me. "He's the runt of a special litter. I managed to find him by pulling some strings but they were going to kill the fluffy guy." He said and I looked up at Mr.Kormack and the dog licked my hand and was biting my fingers gently.

    "I'll pay you back.." I said and Mr.Kormack shook his head and rubbed the dogs stomach.

    "No Winter. It's a gift, you don't owe me anything." He said and I jumped when the dog tried to bark but it was more of a high pitched yip and growl. I looked up and saw that the teens had gone back to watching TV and my dads were in the kitchen. I moved the dog slightly and crawled forward slightly and kissed Mr.Kormack on the cheek.

    "I appreciate it Mr.Kormack." I said and he nodded.

    "Hey Winter it's your favorite part!" Landon said and I looked up to the movie we were watching. It was Hellboy II: The Golden Army. I stood up and ran over to the couch and I heard the growls from Spoofy and his paws against the hardwood following me. I then felt soft fur sit on my toes making me look down and laugh when he had sat on my feet. A few laughs and giggles rang out but I looked back up at the TV and watched the scene where Hellboy has to be told something to make him want to live after having some metal tip taken from inside of him that would kill him. And his girlfriend, who is also the person who fights along side him tells him she's pregnant and I love it because it's so emotional...

    "Much cuteness." I mumbled and a shiver was sent through me, then a coughing spell which made Spoofy look up at me and cock his head. Mr.Kormack who was talking to daddy again came from the kitchen along with daddy and this fit was the worse because it wouldn't stop. It eventually started to really hurt my chest and Chase had stood up and tried to see if I was okay but when he moved my hand from my mouth he went slightly pale and looked to daddy.
