hello once again, campers!! this was long overdue but i finally have the winners of the one shot competition everyone probably forgot about! let me tell y'all, this was a freaking difficult decision because you wrote my characters better than i ever could. a blow to my ego this was, haha! but yes, campers, i would like to thank you all for putting actual effort into my trash and making something beautiful out of it. i am in awe. y'all were amazing.

(also i blasted thru ur oneshots in like 8 hours it was SUCH A RUSH)

it's already obvious that heather is a talented bean, so when she decided to sprinkle some of her talent onto my trashy book i was nothing short of thrilled. her angst was unbridled and she tortured grace (my baby) but i can forgive her for that because she made the best pun ever -- "mushroom for improvement"! what the HECK that is genius this was all genius heather u are a genius

SECOND PLACE

"HOW HE BECAME" by sealevel

one character who i have mixed feelings about is isaac, for obvious reasons. skye over here, however, turned that around for me and i can now say that i LOVE isaac my son. she gave him the origin story he deserved and what is an origin story without an overbearing amount of angst?? skye captured that angst FLAWLESSLY and her writing is all i wish mine could be. her puns too like really thought out -- "would you like some cheese with that whine" (a tru classic), that elaborate shakespeare pun that i'm too lazy to go back and look for, and "you're the only juan in this class who's mexican" which, while slightly racist is a great pun and i can appreciate that. u talented, gurl i luv u

FIRST PLACE

"THE END OF THE WORLD" by spectacle (LiarLiarLiar)

hoooooly god this was so gOOD. probably my favorite friendship in the entire novel is finn/grace so this was heaven for me!! also musicals. the sound of music and a very potter musical?? plus my children??? honestly i'm surprised i haven't died yet. although i kind of have, thinking about it. b.w. showed a side of grace i wish i had explored more, and reminded me why i love this tiny gay blonde to shreds. also finn. god i love u. my precious son. their friendship was captured so beautifully and it really showed why they go so well together and i'm just. so proud. also did i mention these two idiots were thespians??? IS IT POSSIBLE TO BE ATTRACTED TO UR OWN CHARACTERS. also, camping is in tents. that is all. congrats, b.w. U DESERVE IT

that's it, campers! this, i think, is symbolic for actual closure for this book. i've read your beautiful oneshots. i've reminisced. now it's time to move on, i think. and i'm excited for that!

(although i still have the prizes of these winners to write, so not quite time to move on.)
