I stood outside the post office, the letter in my hand. It has been about 3 days since that phone call. He tried phoning me every 20 minutes, but I refused to answer. I pushed the letter into the postbox, turning and walking away. I pulled my hood up, not wanting to be recognised. Even though it hurt me ever since I first shifted and and found out he was my mate, I would never want Aaron to be tied down to me. Never.

I walked back into my room, turning the tv on. I flicked through the channels, bored. The wolf channel suddenly came on, the local wolf reporter grinning widely.

"Today is the day Aaron Maud and Claire Jeffery's get hitched! They are really happy and the wedding is starting soon! Only one thing is missing, according to Aaron. That is his best friend. Chloe Beckons has apparently been back for about four days, but hasn't showed her face. Claire is worried about her, but Aaron and Mitch say she is fine. I doubt this, since even Alpha Maud hasn't seen his fake daughter! It not only worries me about her health, but it worries me that she is having second thoughts about us!" I gulped.

A post man suddenly appeared, a letter in hand. My letter. He handed it to Alpha, saying something. Mitch looked at the letter, obviously recognising my handwriting. He grinned, ripping it open. As he read, the grin slowly disappeared and was replaced by a deep frown. I knew he was confused, but it was not my fault! I could see him re-read it, before throwing it on the table and pacing with his hands behind his head. "this is not good." He mouthed. Aaron appeared next, reading the letter. He re-read it about six times before the message sank in. His face was blank, expressionless. He whispered in Chase, his guy best friends ear. Chase looked at him worried, before nodding. The reporter was talking to Mitch.

I layed back, my arm over my eyes. 'Please, God. Just let them get the day over with.'

At ten in the night, they were still filming it. No matter how hard I tried to look away, I couldn't. All I did was cry at the pain for the whole day.

"Can I have your attention?!" Aaron yelled, the room falling silent. He grinned happily at Claire before his attention turned to the camera. "I want to thank everyone I know. My parents, my family, my pack, my fans, my supporters. But, most importantly, my best friend. Chlo, this is for you." He held his glass up, his eyes glued on the camera. "I have no clue why your ignoring me, or why you want to quit the pack, but just listen to this. Your my best friend, practically my sister," My sobs became harder, my hand shaking as I covered my mouth. "And I will always love you as family and as a friend. You helped me through everything. The loss of my mother, when my brother did a runner. You were even there when I was just depressed. Chlo, you mean a lot to me, ok? Just come and talk to us ... to me. We all miss you so, so much. So, this is for you again. We love you, Chlo." He held his glass up again, everyone in the room following suit. I fell to my knees, sobbing hard.

"It's ok, you know." Claire said this time. "You don't need to run off for any reason. I think I may know why, but that is just stupid. We all love you, babes. Your my only girl friend! Please, come back. We miss you." I hugged my knees, letting the tears fall.

Why do they NEED to make it hard?!
