"Sam, watch out!" Tara screamed.

I turned around, a walker biting into my shoulder as I pushed my knife into its head.

It was a small bite, but even the smallest bites kill.

Everyone ran towards me in slow motion, everyone screaming orders at each other while I was in shock.

I looked down at the piece of paper that had me distracted as I felt the burning sensation in my shoulder.

"We can't cut her arm off there! It'll hit her jugular and she'll die even faster!" Tara yelled.

"Guys, I'm fine." I replied.

"Maybe if we sterilize it, we can beat it from getting in the blood stream." Rosita suggested.

"It's too late." I replied, trying to smile.

"Let's just get her inside." Daryl mumbled.

"Where's Rick?" Maggie asked, tears already in her eyes.

I watched as Glenn pulled her off to the side as I walked inside, my shoulder stinging with pain.

"What happened?" Carl asked.

"She's bit." Tara answered, a tear rolling down her cheek.

"Stop crying, all of you. Life sucks, and this is a part of it." I declared.

Carl turned around and ran back upstairs, and Glenn walked outside.

Everyone walked upstairs with me as I sat down on the bed.

I pulled the necklace out from under my shirt before taking it off.

"Guys, I'm fine. Stop looking at me like I'm going to break." I replied.

"Sam," Rick croaked, standing in the doorway.

Everyone piled out of the room, leaving me alone with Rick.

"How'd it happen?" He asked, sitting down beside me.

"I wasn't paying attention." I replied.

"I can't lose you, Sam." He replied, tears in his eyes.

"Hey," I mumbled, putting a finger under his chin. "You're all going to be okay. I'll make sure of it." I replied.

He put his head in his hands before crying.

I leaned on him, my head resting on his shoulder.

"I love you." He stated, looking at me with tears falling down his cheeks.

"I love you." I replied.

I raised up in my bed, my chest heaving up and down.
