Somehow, Bethany managed to get Troye to agree to this 'not-so-blind-blind-date' (she accidentally told Toye who his date is). Troye, however, had no fucking idea how to prepare, considering the only date's he had been on were with Joey, and those weren't often.

Bethany convinced Troye to stop by the Franta-Mota household right before his date, that way Bethany can give him some tips and advice when it comes to dating Shane.

when Troye pulled up to the house, he was a little disappointed to see that Connor's car wasn't there, meaning he was out and about. Troye just sighed and put his car in park, walking up to the front door.

As soon as Bethany answered it, she began laughing her ass off.

"Are you proposing to him on the first date? Jesus, Troye!" She laughed, referring to his outfit of choice, which, by the way, consisted of a white dress shit, black tie, and black pants. "You're going to TGI Fridays not some fancy-ass restaurant."

"Ugh!" Troye groaned, tugging on his hair in frustration, ruining it in the process. "what am i supposed to wear? I don't have a change of clothes, nor the time to go get a change of clothes."

Bethany sat there for a second, evaluating her choices, before pulling him into Connor's room. "You wore his clothes before and they seemed to fit, I'm sure he won't mind you borrowing some."

Troye seemed hesitant at first, remembering their first conversation about borrowing clothes. He had specifically told Connor that he'd rather be caught in is mothers clothes than caught dead in Connors,  and Connor seemed to agree, however they seemed to have warmed up to each other. Maybe Connor wouldn't mind.

Troye hesitantly walked to Connors closet, going through all the different jumpers, jackets, and joggers hung up. He finally decided on a black, leather-ish jacket and a white top - he figured he could just wear his black pants he had on already.

Troye held up the outfit for Bethany to see, earning her nod of approval. Troye smiled, ushering her out of Connor's room so he could change.

after getting dressed, Troye couldn't help but look around Connor's room, admiring the many Track & field and swimming medals. He couldn't hold back a smile.

"Troye?" Bethany called from across the hall. "let's fix your hair and talk about your date tonight."

Troye sighed, stepping out of Connor's room and into Bethany's. Once Bethany saw Troye's outfit, she immediately smiled.

"Holy shit, you look hot!" She laughed, causing Troye to join in. "Shane is going to love you."

"I don't want to go on this date, Beth." Troye admitted as Bethany played around with his hair. "I still lo-like Joey, a lot, and I feel like I'm betraying him for doing this."

"You? Betraying him? Troye, he cheated on you!" Bethany reminded him. "You don't deserve him, okay? You need someone who will care about you, like Shane!"

"What's Shane like?" Troye decided to change the topic, he knew Bethany was right, he just didn't want to admit it.

"He's a funny dude, I mean, he's inappropriate at times, but over all he can be super nice." She praised, spraying some sea salt spray in Troyes hair.

"How exactly do you know him?" This was the one question that Bethany had hoped Troye wouldn't ask, but there was no way she could avoid it. She could either make up some bullshit lie or tell him the truth.

If she made up a lie, Shane could probably shoot it down on the date, so she went with the truth.

"Well you see, he's Connor's ex" She admitted, hoping Troye wouldn't ask any more questions, but much to her dismay, he did.

"Connor and Shane dated? How come I never knew about this?" Troye seemed shocked to hear such news, usually everybody knows who Shane is dating, he makes sure of it.

"Connor wasn't out then," Bethany explained. "He was only out to myself, his siblings, and Hannah. Not even his parents knew."

"Why did they break up?"

"Well, as I said, Connor wasn't out. And well, we all know how Shane likes to make his relationships public,"

"Oh God, did he out him?" Troye questioned, turning around to face Bethany.

"No, but he was close to it. He kept pressuring Connor to come out because he hated hiding. Connor told him countless amounts of times that he wasn't ready, but Shane just didn't care - so Connor broke up with him."

"God, I feel so bad for Connor. It must have been real shitty to have your first relationship be like that," Troye commented, now feeling like he's betraying Connor by going on a date with his ex. "Why are you making me go on a date with Shane?"

"Because overall, Shane is a really nice guy, Troye. I think you two will really get along."

But oh, how Bethany was wrong.

During the date, Shane wouldn't stop talking. He never gave Troye a chance to talk, and when he did, he'd completely disregard Troye's comments. But the thing that totally set Troye off was how Shane spoke of Connor. it went a little something like this;

Shane: "So you're friends with Bethany?"

Troye: "Yeah, she's really ni-"

Shane: "I heard she's step siblings with Connor, is that right?"

Troye: "Yeah! Connor is actually an amazing person. He's really sweet and caring,"

Shane: "Connor and I used to be a thing? Did you know that? Hmm, but he broke up with me because he was to much of a weenie to come out."

Troye: "Shane, he wasn't ready to come out"

Shane: "But I was, you know? It was really frustrating to be in a relationship with him. I was relieved when he finally broke it off."

Troye: "I think we're done here, check please!"

Needless to say Troye wasn't going on a second date.

Thus explains why Troye was currently enraged as he drove to Bethany's, ready to rant about how horrible of a date that was.

Troye really did feel bad that Connor's first relationship was with Shane, he deserved much better.

Actually, Connor and Troye both deserve better - yet they seem to be oblivious as to who their better half really is.
