Reveling in the Moonlight

One night, my lover came to me

In rippling silver silk.

He took my hand and guided me away into the night.

He kissed my neck and whispered his love.

He gave me the moon, the stars,

He made the universe dance,

Just for me.

But as day broker

He bid me farewell and promised to be back soon

Fifty years I've waited

Till he stepped onto my window sill again.

And as he takes my hand and lets his warmth seep into me

I fade into the night sky once again,

Never to return.
