"Hey Malik, let me get those files for the basketball team on my desk by noon." I walked out the sports team office of the youth center as I was approached by Josiah. "What's up lil bro? You good?" He stopped me in my tracks and looked around before speaking. "I went to see my mother the other day." I stared at him blankly. "Come with me."

Josiah followed closely on my heels to my office. He sat down as I closed the door. "What happen?" I unzipped the jacket on my jumpsuit and sat at my desk. "I tried to get answers, she gave me none." The look on his face read desperate and hopeless. I took a deep breath and rubbed my chin. "I need answers Jay. I'm the youngest and I know nothing. I told her I live with Jasmyne and I met you and her face went red. She's knows about you two, she's hiding something."

Josiah eyes were red. "You been smoking?" He turned his head then looked at me. "Just once." I tapped my fingers intensely looking at him. "You know..." He shook his head. "I know Jay. I was stressing, I was angry. It was only one time, I'll be clean by my next..." I leaned in. "That's the point. You know your drug test are random. Your P.O. (Probation Officer) can call you right now and tell you come in and you know they go in bathroom with you." I leaned back in my seat.

"Bro I just need some answers." My office phone rung, I didn't take my eyes off Josiah as I sent the call to my voicemail. "You and Jas come see me tonight around 8:30, 9ish. Carmen has class tonight and I have all the answers your mother won't give you. Let's get to work."
