You flinched at the sight before you, sucking a hesitant breath in. There, right in your own home kitchen, stood(floated) Mist and Astral, seemingly arguing over something while the kitchen was covered in eggs, flour, cake mix, brownie mix, cookie mix, milk and many more things. You saw bowls and spoons laying flat on the floor, a broken glass one in the double sink. Thankfully, your parents were away for the weekend, so you wouldn't be blamed for the huge mess. The two aliens were still arguing so you loudly cleared your throat, catching their attention. Astral had a panicked look when he saw you while Mist just had a calm one. You mentally sighed, but mustered up a smile for the two, hesitantly stepping into the kitchen.
"How did this," you motioned to the mess, "exactly happen?" You questioned, looking back up at the two. Astral went to speak first, but Mist cut him off.
"Astral said I couldn't make everything." Astral gave a swift glare to Mist, Mist giving him one back. You sighed, ran a hand through your hair, and carefully made your way to your shoes resting by the backdoor of the kitchen. You slipped them on, headed towards the cleaning cabinet and pulled out a mop, broom, dustpan and bucket. You turned to Mist and Astral, lifting the items.
"Take your pick." They blinked.
~Timeskip~
After an hour and a half, about a quarter of the kitchen was cleaned. Astral swept while Mist mopped, you carefully taking the glass from the sink and putting them in the rubbish bin before rinsing the sink out. You didn't quite understand how they broke five large and medium mixing bowls, which will come out of your allowance this week.
You moved on to gathering all the bowls, spoons and scattered measuring cups. You brought them to the sink and started to scrub them clean, being careful not to scratch them. You heard Mist grumble and looked over your shoulder, seeing as he switched to a rag and window cleaner to clean the windows. You shook your head, going back to cleaning the dishes. You felt a tap on the shoulder, causing you to turn your head once again. Astral stood, well, floated, and lifted the broom.
"The floor is finally clean. What shall I do next?" He questioned, watching you look around at the walls. You turned back towards him, setting another bowl into the dish rack before completely turning around.
"You could take the photos and other things hanging off the walls and clean them. Stack the stuff up on the couch in the lounge room once they're clean then clean the walls." You said, watching as he nodded, handing you the broom and dustpan. You took them back to the cleaning cabinet, setting them inside then turning to check on Mist. He seamed to already cleaned all the windows, cleaning and rinsing the rag he was using in the sink and emptying the bucket he used for the mop.
"Mist, how about cleaning the ceiling while I clean the countertops?" He turned to you, looking up before shrugging. He got to work and you quickly finished the dishes before grabbing a rag and starting on the counter that had a row of spices and such lined up against the wall.
~Another Timeskip~
Soon enough, the kitchen was cleaned, cleaner than before, and you took a shower and washed your clothes afterwards, changing into your normal wear. You went out, bought the things broken and wasted and came back home, Astral and Mist following you the entire way. Once everything was put away, you flopped onto the couch, switched the TV on and sat with Astral and Mist on either side of you.
"You weren't supposed to wake up, y'know..." Mist mumbled, making you look at him.
"I wasn't?" You questioned, turning to Astral when he spoke up.
"It was a surprise, we were going to make you sweets to celebrate how long you've been with us." He said, smiling kindly. You were silent for a moment or two before giving the two smiles, hugging both of them.
"That's really sweet, but wake me up next time to help!"
