Chapter Fifteen

"What the hell do you want?" I whined, with my groggy morning voice.

Scott had the nerve to wake me up at this early of an hour...which is not okay.

"Kira found Brett. They're okay, but we've gotta-"

"Whoa, whoa. Slow down..." I paused,

"Look, there are more assassins, okay? So you have to watch your back. Promise me you'll stay safe?" Scott rambled,

"I promise." I lightly smiled,

"Okay, I'll uh- I'll update you later." he finished, before hanging up.

I began to get cozy under my blankets once more, before my phone rang again.

I clicked on the green-phone icon, not looking at the caller-ID.

"Scott, I told you I'd-"

"Hey, Liz.." Liam's voice spoke,

I sat up in my bed, "Uh- Liam...Hi."

"Hey, uh...so, Scott took me back home, but I'm not exactly sure what I do now." He stammered,

"You mean, now that you're not fighting for your life from creepy assassins, you don't know what to do?" I joked.

"Pretty much.." he admitted.

"Well, if you're up for the company, I could come over...or Mason could...he probably wants to know what happened last night anyway, and I doubt he'll give up." I acknowledged.

"Yeah, you should come over. I'll text Mason too, so I don't have to face him alone..."

"Okay," I laughed.

"Okay." he repeated, running out of words.

"Okay...well, I'll see you in 20." I smiled, before hanging up.

Apparently, when you're fighting supernatural assassins with your friends, you never catch a break.

"So, Lydia's talking to Meredith..and I haven't gotten an update from Scott yet.." I awkwardly announced, sitting on Liam's bed.

"Cool..." he muttered.

"Cool?" I rose my eyebrows, before Mason walked into the room, interrupting our disastrously awkward conversation.

"Hey, guys...surprised you invited me over." Mason complained, standing in the doorway.

"Why is that?" I shared a look with Liam.

"Oh, I don't know...you guys being hauled away by some security people saying that you're 'overly intoxicated', even though you didn't have enough drinks to actually get drunk." Mason babbled.

Liam's face dropped, "Uh- well, I mean-"

"No, dude...I'm sick of all these excuses. I wanna know the truth, and I wanna know it now." Mason demanded, as my eyes widened.

"Look, Mason-" I started, before my heart began racing. I let out a groan in pain, as I clutched my head.

"Liz, are you okay?" Liam worried.

"Come on Liz...you wanna keep a secret so bad, you're staging a brain injury?" Mason sassed, before I fell onto Liam's floor.

"Mason, I don't think she's faking.." Liam's face grew even more worried, "Liz, who do we call? What do you want us to do?"
