1. Bad Boys

You were in class, struggling to listen to your biology teacher, Mrs. Handley, lecture. Your notebooks have been filled with absolutely nothing educational. You planned on copying someone else's notes, but for the meantime, you planned on sketching for an art competition with your friends.

Then he came in.

Mrs. Handley lectured him like usual.

He always came in late. Whether the teacher was in the room or not, he was always tardy.

Lexis was a mystery no one could solve. He was an interesting mystery to you, but you were too scared – like everyone else – to investigate. You had always known him as the bad boy.

He did something out of the ordinary that day.

He sat beside you.

You stared at him with wide eyes, wondering why he sat there. There were plenty of other seats he could've chosen from. All the other kids were sick with the flu or cold.

He frowned at you. "What?"

You shook your head. "N-nothing, nothing."

He went into his own world.

And you became determined to figure it out.
