Hey guys. :)

So everyone who reads my John Murphy fanfic will know why I haven't updated in so long, but I'll just add this in here anyway:

Since last Wednesday, which was February 24th, I have had some kind of strange virus. They don't know if it was a flu or something else, but it basically made me feel like I was hit by a truck. It was horrific. Everything ached, I had extreme nausea for at least 6 days, and I was so tired that I could only stay awake for an hour (two if I was lucky) at a time. They said that even though I was obviously very sick, for some reason my white blood cells (the things that fight off an illness) decided that I was fine. It was like they weren't detecting my sickness. So I started taking meds for it, which have slowly worked, but have made me really tired. This was the first time I've gone to school. I missed 4 days.

So yeah. I'm better now, but that was why. I could barely stay awake long enough to take pills and attempt at eating something, let alone type.

Okies. Well, I hope you like this one. :) You probably won't. ;)

OHHHHHHH And I forgot to tell you guys! I know that most of you are from the USA or the UK, but if anyone is from Canada, you'll likely be aware of Queen's Park, which is the legislative assembly of Ontario (basically the government for the province). Well, they hold a contest every year, the Youth Writer's Award. I entered it way back in November, and it turns out, I made the short list! :D So I'm gonna go and drive two hours to Toronto, Ontario, get to stand up on a stage, get a 'honoured' for apparently being a good writer, and all that jazz. They'll let us know who won the contest during the ceremony. So yeah,  that's pretty exciting. ^_^ I'll let you guys know how I do.

In short, I just wanted to thank you all for supporting me and being patient. <3 You guys are the reason why I enjoy writing so much, because I know that someone out there looks forward to it. I love you all.

Okies. Well, that was a stupidly long A/N. I hope you like this chapter, though you likely will hate me afterwards. ;)

P.S. I've just realized that I say 'so' A LOT. I sowwy. :'3

Chapter One Hundred & Eleven

The wolves continued to circle around the jazz club, while Elijah and I sat at the bar. We watched over Hope as well as Jackson.

Jackson was in pain, that much was clear. But from the mixture of sadness and anger in his eyes, I truly didn't know what kind of pain it was. It could be anger at the fact that he didn't kill Klaus the second he admitted to murdering Aiden. Then, it could be the extreme sadness at losing his friend and Beta. I wanted to help him, and so did Elijah, but we couldn't. Nothing could heal the loss of a loved one, except time. And sometimes even that wasn't enough.

"Nice job today," Hayley stated, walking over to us and looking at me. "First Klaus kills Aiden, and then you defend him?"

"We were protecting Hope," Elijah said, narrowing his eyes at her.

"Yeah? Well, if that's true, then what happens now? Somehow, I don't think Klaus is going to be able to save us."

"He loves her," I stated. "I love her."

Hayley's angered expression turned to a desperate one, and her voice lowered into a whisper.

"Well, if you do, then let us leave," she said, moving slightly closer to me.
