in the spring,
butterflies and dandelions
danced in the breeze;
you held me up on your shoulders
and i touched the leaves on the trees.
in the summer,
we watched light turn to dark
and dark turn to light;
we sat by the window
and peered at the stars in the sky.
in the autumn,
golden leaves and rusty pine cones
scattered on to the floor;
you let me reach high
and i tried to glue them back on.
in the winter,
angels lay peacefully
in the snow on the ground;
you lifted me up high
and let me look on from above.
days faded into months
and months into years,
but only in those moments
were we without a care in the world,
and with joy intertwined
in every action of ours,
it was just beautiful.
