Hopkins woke up and saw her bright green eyes shining towards him. He smiled, feeling his whole body still sleepy, but played with a lock of Clark's brown hair.

She always had this way of looking at things, like everyone and everything was an old parchment that needed to be understood, translated.

And it was because of those eyes that Hopkins loved the mornings, when Clark's gaze was only his.

"I think it's better," she started in a whisper, "to keep our relationship strictly professional from now on."

She got up and closed the door.

The smell of Elizabeth Clark's perfume in the sheets haunted Liam Hopkins for the rest of the day.
